Next year iw ill be on the market for a "small" SUV...i think the F-Pace is a good alternative to...well don't know what,but i like it.

I don't like too much the Macan,nor the X4,no Volvo,etc.

The problem is the engine,diesel engine is 180HP or 300HP,too much price difference and power difference

A Diesel engine with 220/240HP it should be sure better.

i will think about..

Yesterday I sold my 991 winter tires to a friend. I was bringing them to him with the Jeep. I could easily fit the full pair of 19" 991 Tyre set into the trunk of my Grand Cherokee. Not many other SUVs will be able to to that - this was impressive, no seat folding, just the trunk!).

The Grand Cherokee is great when it comes to luggage or transporting people but I have to admit that I got a little bit bored with the truck. Smiley It isn't agile enough to remind me of a sports car (though it is much more agile than my wife's former X3 35d and it surely feels pretty agile for a 2.5 t truck), the Cayenne is much better with that and on the Autobahn, when I pass 160 or 180 kph, the speed increase is quite slow, making it a problem to shake off some high power Diesel station wagons (I succeed but slowly).

The Macan Turbo is better with Autobahn performance and agility but it is boring as hell.

Right now, I would get a Range Rover Sport SVR, a Cayenne Turbo or Turbo S, a BMW X5 M (yes, not really sounding great but fast as hell) or a Mercedes G63 AMG.

However, for the money the GC costs me, it is unbeatable.

Hehe.... so true what you say!

Same here .... always told you, wished it would be a tick faster on the Autobahn to blow those high power Diesels even stronger. Anyway... we succeed! ;)

SVR.... top on the list here, too!

BTW - Seen today the first MB CLE in flesh (not Coupe) - hell, what an utmost boring car by look - like a blown up A-class! No-Go!

US prices are now online: 40990 USD for the 180hp diesel, 42390 USD for the 340hp supercharged V6 and 56700 USD for the 380hp supercharged V6 in the S.

Honestly, this is amazing pricing that'll see this car fly off dealer floors. Ignoring the diesel, the base petrol undercuts the Macan's base price by over 10000 dollars and offers more space and standard equipment. Much as I love Porsche, their pricing has become forbidding, their standard equipment beyond stingy and the overall feel of the brand is becoming increasingly inaccessible. The case for the F-Pace S grows stronger with time, in my opinion; 0-100 in 5.1 is more than enough for a compact [0.3 seconds off a Macan Turbo], in my opinion.

Jaguar's onto a hit.

I was specing an S-Pace "starting edition" - ended up 110k€ for the Diesel. How stupid I should be paying that much for a mid class, exoctic, Indian-British SUV.

I think er she-type looks very nice - like the Evoke did at inception - but it needs to be similarly priced to make a noticable difference in the UK IMHO

Macan turbo 0-100 4.6s with SC no (0-60 4.4s in USA)? That's 0.5s faster than the fastest Jaguar and a significant difference IMHO.

Really? The standard palette has quite a variety - from solid/metallic blacks and silvers to Italian Racing Red and my personal favorite, British Racing Green. It's a shame that the stunning Caesium Blue is reserved only for the First Edition series, but it might be too flashy for daily use. Either way, sixteen color options is a noticeably more extensive palette compared to the Macan's eleven bland colors.

In USA I could configure one for more than $68k... Good price maybe, still prefer the Macan...

This is a moderately spec'ed First edition Diesel. This extras I would need minimum. If I don't go for a first edition and take a bit more extras I easily end up at 110k! Insane for this car.

I remember when I ordered our Range Rover Sport 4 years ago - those days the car was pretty much full equipped, not much to add. Today at all Tata Brands - it is worse than at any German manufacturer (except Audi which is hell of a configuration vendor), you have to tick so many boxes. This is actually something very nice on the US cars - you buy the highest line and the car is full - period. If I just read 1500,- € for the memory package on that First Edition Jaguar, come on, electrical seats are included, but for the memory 1500,- €? This is just software, no even one penny more in materials inside (my friend is vendor for those things - so I know what I talk about).

I really love that F-Pace, but not for this conditions. A X5 5.0d is the same price but a different kind of level.

100k EUR for such a car is just insane. I would pay up to 80k for the top model with 500-550 hp V8 but thats it.

Still waiting for G63 prices to drop.

Just kidding, don´t take me wrong, but if such car with V8 at this price from Jaguar exist, Macan / X3 and Q5 sales would stop.

I like the looks in and out and will consider this car for my wife when it comes out here, much more than X3 or Macan.
