Thank god, I have the most normal (almost boring ) kids on this planet, they have no desires of tattoos or similar stuff. Yet. They are still young (14 and 17), things can change fast. Both are pretty stubborn though (like their dad), so probably nothing will really change.
They have an acquired taste though, like I said...son wants a Mustang V8 (alternatively the M2 or a 240i ) and my daughter, she always makes fun of my wife buying expensive handbags, wants this LV handbag (or whatever this is) if she finishes school with a certain very good grade (which apparently she will).
Kids...
LOL. Please tell me you won't buy your daughter a $5K handbag, RC.
Of course I will, she deserves it. Good kid, fantastic marks in school, very modest as well (she could have nice stuff but she always shops at Aeropostale and similar stores) and she usually hates brand stuff (unless it is really good quality) but this handbag (is it one? ) fascinated her so much, she badly wants one, so this is going to be her Abitur (Switzerland: Matura) gift. I still struggle to understand what Abitur translates into the US school system (high school diploma?). Her results will very likely enable her to study medicine in Germany (we have a very strict restriction for medicine) but she isn't really into it, actually she doesn't know what to do. She is very good in Algebra/math (surprisingly, in the beginning, she was struggling with simple percentage calculations), so she could also become a software engineer or similar (apparently there is a huge lack of women in this domain) but right now, she just wants to finish school and enjoy some free time.
Btw: This bag is 3750 EUR (incl. tax) in Germany. This sounds a lot but many kids here in Germany get trips as a gift for their high school diploma which probably cost the same or more, so I'm good. She still travels with us, so...good for her.
