One more shot of interior w/ acid green stitching and the seat piping. I've wanted a birch green (lichtgrun) Porsche since I was a teenager so at 59 I can finall6 afford to be 16! One observation that I think is worth making. We discuss the qualities and characteristics, of cars in detail, but in reality it is our qualities and characteristics that determine how satisfying ownership of a particular car will turn out. My 991 GT3 was an excellent car but I could not make it work for me in the driving environment in which I live, even as a pure weekend "toy". My idea of owning the GT3 and the reality of ownership were too disparate so the issue wasn't the car. Horses for courses. I was skeptical about the new turbo engine in the 911 and had not planned on a purchase or even a test drive. Actually I wanted a PDK 911R (driving a winged car in town and country is not desirable or enjoyable), but after the 911R "gold rush fever" phenomenon burst upon the scene, I decided that I would not wait for Godot and test drove a turbo C2S. These engines are not "a poor man's turbo" or "mini-turbo" but rather a surprisingly remarkable feat of engineering that allows a FI engine to behave similarly to a NA engine in day to day driving but w/ the benefit of low rpm torque availability not associated w/ high performance NA engines. Is it perfect? No. The PSE is acceptable but not comparable to the previous PSE GTS 3.8 NA set up. Is there turbo "lag". Yes, but minimal and only if you set the stage for the effect to be magnified. I think Porsche has managed to reconcile very different demands (emissions/economy/sports character and performance) remarkably well and offer a practical solution (and compromise) that still preserves the 911 character in a world that has changed considerably since my father took delivery of his 1973 Beige Grey 911T and I looked longingly at the tangerine, signal yellow, and birch green 911s and 914s in the Porsche-Audi showroom.

Very true and they probably would have but the current 911 Turbo engine is in it's last generation and giving the 911 Carrera too much power could have been a (marketing) problem, especially for the regular (non-S) 911 Turbo.
The 911 GTS with 450 hp already does 0-200 kph in slightly under 12 seconds, so...

620 hp, a decent exhaust sound and I would have never given my 991.1 Turbo S away...
Didn't happen for various (gain margin related?) reasons.
It seems however that Porsche, like many other luxury manufacturers, profits from the low interest rates and the fact that people seem to rather spend their money than to leave it at the bank with no interest, especially in Germany. I know a guy who swore that he will never pay that much money for a Porsche and now he drives one. He already bought a couple of apartments and gold and even a boat and now...a Porsche. He is afraid that money is going to be less worth in a couple of years, so he puts his money into real estate and...fun.

It was definitely a paint-to-sample or something.. like this pic below but a little more green in it.
Looks like Petrol Blue.
Nice color. I wish people would spec dark blue more often so that there would be good used supply for me later.

I like blue as well but never order it. If that is the old 911 S petrol blue, that was always my favourite shade of blue. But both my cars are white and my wife's is black though I would have ordered that car (Q7) white as well. I guess I am just not that adventurous, when it comes to ordering. Talking about colors have you ever noticed the quality of floors that Lexus offers, their blue, black, grey and red are all perfect shades. Almost a liquid paint.

noone1:There is a pretty nice looking 991 Turbo in dark blue I saw on eBay the other day. MSRP was only like 155K though, meaning it was bare bones probably, and asking was still $120K. For $100K, I might have looked into it more.
Yeah, why not wait until it drops to 20k, a real steal.

finally at home...picked her up at Zuffenhausen, went to Baden-Baden (lovely place), Nancy (France) and Metz (France). 900 km already! I dunno if one is still interested in comments about the car?
