I don't know. We must remember that the regular 911 engines also failed.

My dealer didn't have a single "failed" 991 Carrera engine in his repair shop since the 991 came out. Smiley

I think 9A1 Carrera failures are quite rare (but not non-existent). Much improved over M96/M97 Carrera...

I am pretty sure that there is a very small percentage of engine failures of course (no tech is perfect) but compared to the 996/997 engines and other car brands in a similar performance class, I think the 991 Carrera engine is remarkably reliable. It is an engine which has "aged" well and it shows.

the car in question definately wasn't a track toy, as we don't have a track in Lebanon... and knowing the driver he bought the car for show and barely drives it...

I understand four of the 2015 GT3 with engine failure were used as taxi's on the Ring. The issue had something to do with valves and not a loose connecting rod screw which was the problem with the 2014 engine.

Actually for me this would be a huge plus.... I was waiting since long for the rear seats in a GT3. As I never would track it, only would take it to drive with it to the Kindergarden and school for delivering the kids I really would love it. BTW.... And if they do the rear seats I hope to see them in a Convertible, too! Smiley Smiley

Thats going to depend on the country. In Spain he would be arrested. But seems like its a middle eastern country given the signs on the road so things may be more laxed.

Disregarding the safety issues, I can't believe how easy that thing is to power slide, there is virtually zero pendulum effect, the rear doesn't kick back like on older 911s a super easy and fun car to slide around......

Do 991 GT3s really have this little rear end grip or is the torque delivery so sharp that it can unstick the rear so easily ?

This vid reinforces why I don't like PDK, this engine blipping and changing whenever it feels like it with the driver doing a token change up when he is not twirling the wheel - he probably feels the need for hanging the tail out as there is so little else to do to drive that thing !
