Ferrari Dino: the first spy shots of V6 test mule by CAR Magazine http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-shots/ferrari/ferrari-dino-the-first-spy-shots-of-v6-test-mule/

    Re: New Dino

They say this is a shortened 488 architecture. From what I can tell from the pics this is a standard 458 with a big side vent in the doors. I think I've seen pics of this car before the 488 presentation, so it may be just another mule for this car or the upcoming Speciale successor.

Would be hard to get over 500hp from a V6 otherwise, right?  I know the GT3 RS barely gets there and it seems like it was hard Smiley

Using a turbo engine they could make a lighter car... After all what would be the point of a Dino if it wasn't a smaller lighter car...

It was always going to be a V6 (like the original 204/246 Dino) - adding turbos makes it heavier than without.

Don't be shocked if it shares the 500hp engine from the new Alfa Giulia

Sounds reasonable.  Hopefully they tweak it for a sportier character and add dry sump.

Looks like the Giulia motor already has Ferrari pedigree:

    Re: New Dino

Ferrari Dino coming late this decade

The rumored Ferrari Dino is reportedly being prepared for a
debut later this decade.Despite being called an entry-level model, the Dino will
come with a starting price tag of around 185,000 EUR (135,000 GBP). Lighter and
smaller than the 488 GTB, the car will be based on an all-new platform largely
using aluminum. In terms of design, it will be influenced by the Pininfarina
Sergio concept, featuring classic Dino references.

The new Dino (name not confirmed) will be powered by a
2.9-liter V6 engine, as reported before. This unit will be based on the Alfa
Romeo Giulia’s mill, but will be heavily reworked for use in the Ferrari. It
will be offered in two power stages – with 450 bhp (336 kW) and 600 bhp (448 kW), according to
    CAR magazine.

This new engine will power “a generation of future Ferraris”.
No detailed information is available at the moment, but the report claims we
are going to see an entry-level California with the same unit, as well as “sports
    cars too”.

    Re: New Dino

Weird that the lower spec Dino will have a Giulia motor detuned by 60hp...  Seems they want to play some of the same games that Porsche invented.

    Re: New Dino

I was hoping it would be a 2+2 as nothing will everlook as sensous as the first Dino and instead it may just be a homage to the 308 of Magnum pi fame.

People said the same when they introduced the California.

the render looks like the ugly sister of the 488GTB. i am sure ferrari design will do much better.
