    apias:

That's a nice brown. Maybe dark enough to avoid dash reflections if it didn't have a polished finish.

this color would be matte , of course , if it were a 911 option

they have offered planter colored " terra cotta " and an almost terra cotta " natural brown " in the past 15 yrs ..why they seem reluctant to offer a " brown " brown has mystified me

Re: 991.2 and future models Thread Closed

Totally agree! With two little boys black leather is the smart way to go but every car I mentally or online spec has a good brown leather interior (unless I'm in the mood for black exterior and red interior or Alpina dark green...)

The Espresso was a nice colour but had a green vein through it. I liked it but it was too dark. But a brown like one of these?? Perfect!

Yet they are from a Porsche 928, an Aston Martin and a Ferrari FF... The Mercedes S Coupe does have a nice brown leather option though...broken heart

As I understand, yesterday was a sclupture launch party in Stuttgart and the 991.2 was shown to public. Why there are no closeup pics on the net yes

Thanks, that's why I asked, not really a press presentation.

Too much theater, just debut the 991.2 and move on.  I can't understand why Porsche is understated one moment and the next, it becomes a collision of marketing drivel.

I think there has been a misreading of the situation here. The "event" was just intended to be an inauguration of the sculpture in front of the Porsche works, not a product launch.

I did understand the purpose of the event and question the need to show the "unveiled" product as such an event.  This is more theater than anything else.

This show was actually like Mickey Mouse parade... I would say not worthy for a top notch firm. It might have been expensive, but it had as much creativity and excitement as white cotton underwear! Driving like crazy with cars around that sculpture.... boh ho boh ho.... my wife would say "German design - what would you expect".... Smiley

Yes, once again, you verify that this event was not appropriate for a company of Porsche's stature.

Re: 991.2 and future models Thread Closed

Let's just say that Porsche is very strange company. All info about 991.2 was given to the press this week and then they posted the embargo till at least mid next week.

    And then... This...

    http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de/inhalt.video-porsche-praesentiert-den-neuen-911.bbe841d4-e5bc-440f-afe5-f43bfaf85cea.html

Insignificant local german newspaper posted the video of the 991.2. Just, maybe some members outside EU won't be able to see it.

    pmarkow:

kreso, any news about GT4 and PDK?

    peter

These "news" have gone viral. Every car site and forum seem to have jumped on this with reference back to Matt's original post on Planet-9. I find it a bit awkward that AP meets with some random guy and spills news about future products.

It would of course be a piece of cake for Porsche to put the standard 981 PDK transmission in the GT4. There is a reason they did not do it in the first place (that reason is not too much effort). Porsche knows very well they would have sold even more cars with manual and PDK in the initial line up, it is not like they suddenly realised there is demand for PDK. Given that the current batch of manual-only cars is more or less sold out, they could have simply increased the batch. No need for PDK. So the reason must be a different one. My guess is, it is eather very early 981.2 GT4 news or it is a 981.1 GT4 Cup car with PDK-like transmission. Reading between the lines in Matt's other posts my bet is on the latter.

I could of course be completely wrong Smiley Has happened before...
