Just keep in mind that there is not a wide selection of radar detectors here....
and i dont know what is better, remote of portable....
PLUS here its only legal if it does not trick the police equipment.....
OK, I see there the Gasto (24GHz) but they also mention 13GHz, this is the Ku band Mini-Gatso but from the pictures it does not coincide, its still the normal 24GHZ Gatso.
If these are only the two frecuencies you have, 24,125GHz Ka band and 13,450GHz Ku Band, then the choice is much easier.
But to make sure I would confirm that you don't have any radars working in the 34,360GHz Ka band (Multanova) since these are the most important ones that deteremione the type of detector for Europe, are very common and the hardest radar to detectect in advance of all radars.
Since you have Ku band you have to forget about Escort, they havo no models with Ku band.
The 24,125GHz K band is very easy because the american version is 24,150GHz and since its so close to the european K band (24,125GHz), the american detectors with K band will work here as well. So V1, RX-65 Bel550, Bel966, Bel975, etc. would work
Forget brands like snpooper or radioshack, or cobra, Whiltler, unider, PNI, etc for that matter.
If you do not have multanovas and detectors are legal then you can opt for a portable, just as long as your windshield does not have athermic treatment which is very popular in europe and most french cars for example have is as standard. This blocks the microwaves getting through the windshield.
I prefer remote (Bel996 or Bel975) simply because is more confortable, there are no wires or cables hanging, and its out of view from the outside. But portables you can switch from car to car. Depends on your needs.
Another issue is laser. It seems you have the LTI Ultrilyte there, Prolaser and the Laser Patrol. For this you need a laser jammer since laser detection is not very trustworthy specially here in europe were they target you at closer ranges than US. You get barely any advance warning here with laser detection, so when the detector goes off it ususlaly means you already got a ticket. But jammers are ilegal. So you have to find out if there are many laser guns in greece because it may not be a great threat since in some countries there are few guns.
The valentine is very versatile because it works great with those freqs K and Ku, (Ku much better performance than the RX-65) and also has posibility of hardwiring it with a concealed display. The quality build of the detector is among the best, better than a Bel or Escort. And it has several unique handy features like the arrows. And if you have Multanovas, the V1 can be programed for those as well.
If you want to get a V1, the best thing to do it to get a friend form US buy it for you and sent it to you, since there are no outside US distributors so is sold in few places in Europe and at a 2-3 the price.
