The 488 has the same issue(s) the 991 Turbo S has/had...minus a power/performance issue (for it's class).
I'm not sure, if it's really an issue. If I like to go loud in any possible way, I order a Speciale, if I like to go "only" exotic, I order the standard car. 458/488 has loads of road presence (as Hurracan, as 650S etc.), that you don't necessarily have to choose a flashy colour. Of course you can if feel like doing so, but IMO it's not a must anymore (opposite to the 80ies/90ies, where a Ferrari had to be rosso corsa for instance).
