Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

    alexalex88:

Is Pininfarina involved in latest Ferrari creations? I think, correct me if I'm wrong, that their signature is no longer in Cavallino's models and Ferrari's design is now in charge of their own design departament. That said, imho Ferrari produced the ugliest cars of its history since they part ways with Pininfarina, including this Mansory F12 TDF; wrong move.

Ferrari is profit-oriented company. Initial reactions of Ferrari buyers are highly positive. And that counts.

That's true, everyone I know that attended the private showing event were raving about the car.

Is there a technical reason behind those vents on a front engine car?!

There is no try. Just do.

    From the press release:

The Aerobridge on the car's front flank has been redesigned to increase the energising effect of the air flow along the top of the sides, while at the rear, louvres on the wheelarch create a depression that extracts air from the inner wheelarch, thereby increasing the efficiency of a section of the underbody that is usually little used in generating downforce.

I really love this car, aggressive, muscular, exaggerated....

Totally agree. I would go as far as to say it's the most beautiful Ferrari I've seen in a few years. Aggressive, muscular, and retro in a way.  But it looks like we are the minority!

The TDF looks amazing and surely will have a great presence in the flesh. I like the idea of an aggressive car for that specific model as long as form follows function, which seems to be the case. If I was in the market for a 2 seater this would be it. Kudos to Ferrari for building it and kudos to their marketing department since it is all sold out anyway...

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

Damn, quoting system seems to be screwed.

@crayphile Of course I would. From an aesthetically point of view, imho LF isn't more than a 458 on steroids and I expected much more for such a special version despite its incredible performance. In fact, there were/are exposed a few discarded designs in the museum which are better looking than the final product. Of course I underline the subjective of my opinion and with all due respect to the owners (who couldn't care less about a random opinion).

@Milanno I completly understand that, i'm not judging Ferrari's financial moves, I suppose that I'm not in the current market for a brand new Ferrari, that's all. No worries, classics market has a lot of opportunities too.

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

I think it somewhere between an alright and quite nice design APART from the weird black things that protude out around the exhausts. They look terrible and make the whole rear messy. Clean up the back and maybe the black bit behind the front wheel arch and you would have had a winner.

Personally I like the three vent GTO hommage. Then again I'm also a retro lover.

I still think this is the sexiest FR V12 Ferrari up to this date, the quad tail lights were a traditional thing on Ferrari cars which were omittedlaugh

Yes - very interesting how black fits the older models with smoother panels but for me at least makes no sense on the latest generation of cars with far more angular panels.

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

Isn't this the same group that hated the C7 Corvette's styling, and everything else about the car?  I guess a prancing horse and a 770 bhp V-12 changes opinions quickly.

Not guilty on the C7 comments  - but now that you mention it - Yes I don't like the C7 styling, and Yes a  Cavallino Rampante and the engine, technology, and styling that goes with it changes everything Smiley I do, however, take your point on some design similarities:

Yellow was the wrong color for sure. Ferrari seems to only show new models in double/triple layers paints.

Re: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta / 599 GTO Successor

The Corvette exterior looks good, the interior pathetic. Smiley As if two different designer teams have worked on the same car (which is very likely). GM should be ashamed of the Corvette and Camaro interiors, they just don't look good.

The red car with the black stripe across the hood is just stunning, 5 year lead time in sport car design vs the competition...
