    Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

With clean P-car & clean air.
I guess this one could be called, "On a clear day ... ".
(If you get tired of seeing these, please say.)

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

I never tire of pics of your beauty!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

I thought these clouds were neat.
A little further up the road it had the audacity to RAIN on me with the top down!
One freakin' rain cloud in the entire sky!
    !*$!*^%$#!!!!!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

It's hard to decide what's nicer the mountain ridge or the cab. Driving top down with those veiws must be special!!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Another "view" shot, car at a slightly different angle.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Looking Glass Rock.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

The finish looks incredible....postcard material, definitely NOT tired of seeing these pics.
Re the second pic especially, it struck me again at the dealer the other day how downright exotic the rear view of the C4 cabrio is-- rolling work of art.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Leaving Blue Ridge Parkway on 276 headed home via Pisgah National Forest (sign). The yellow curvy sign beyond says 20 mph.
    HA! Not in a P-car!!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Neat old house with great stacked wooden fence and just enough room to pull the P-car off the road.
    Honey, I'm home.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Last one, I had to climb through the slats in the stacked wooden fence and shoot back out through the slats in the fence at the P-car to get this one. Probably not worth the trouble. Didn't come out as good as I'd hoped. Got home to find we were under a tornado watch all afternoon. We rarely ever get tornados here, the mountains rip them apart.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Looks crowded up there again

Great scenery, fantastic looking cab. Im going to head to the west of the state sometime soon, will be asking you for some suggested routes if you dont mind being a bit new around here.

    Keep the photos coming!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    You should make a movie!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Thanks everybody. I have fun taking them so it's nice to hear they're enjoyed.
Flashman, glad to help if I can.
Silver Bullet, rhino, Damian, nicholas j, thanks!
24 is on, I'm out of here.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Nice...

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Thank you for your great pictures. The Blue Ridge Parkway seems to be a wonderful place to drive that C4...beautiful!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Nice pics! Thanks!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Great pics!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Taken with 4/3 system?

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Thanks everyone, here's a "hip" pic, love those hips!
Schemeloong, 4/3 was the date I took the pics, April 3rd.
Taken with digital Olympus C-755 4 megapixel with 10X Optical zoom.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

More hips and a tunnel (just above the driver's rear-view mirror).

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Awesome pics! You should come over and take some pictures of my 997 for me!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Better yet we should all meet somewhere in between (lets say Texas) and take pictures of the whole event!!!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Bud,

So what's it like living in western NC? Pros? Cons? How is the Porsche dealer in Asheville?

    Jim

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Hi Jim,
I hope others don't find this too boring but wanted to answer your question. I grew up in upstate NY so I like the change of seasons that FL, for instance, doesn't provide. Plus, the flowers & fauna here in western NC look pretty much like upstate NY so I feel at home. For me there are no cons living in western NC. I lived in Raleigh for a few years and it's too damn HOT and humid with way too much traffic for me. The highest elevations east of the Mississippi are here in NC (I didn't know that until I moved here) rising to well over 6,000'. You "choose" the length & severity of the Winter and the "heat" of the Summer here simply by your elevation. There are few mosquitos (and NONE above 3,000') which I love! My place is surrounded by Rhododendrons, Mountain Laurels, trees, and 2 small brooks. I died and went to Heaven as far as I'm concerned so I'm a bit biased. Fall is the nicest season in NC (although Spring is my fav) because it lasts so long and you're not concerned you'll have a long cold Winter to slog through until the next Spring arrives. There's the occassional redneck in the truck and my Liberal NY Times friends from NY make fun of the people here but I find them to be real nice, warm, friendly folks and I can't say that for many New Yorkers (incuding myself).

I've had P-car serviced once at the Asheville dealer (didn't buy it from them - longer story) and they were great.
PM me if you have any other questions, be happy to try to answer them.
    Don

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    What a butt!!!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Rich, we all want to see pics of your big-butted P-car when you get back from German with her!

I had to post this pic (taken in my back woods yard) of one of the rare & beautiful white squirrels that visit me.
    NOT Photoshop'd.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Thats a pretty little thing!

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Absolutely outstanding pictures, and what a fantastic car for driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway. That's why I think the mountains in the Eastern U.S. are one of the greatest places for driving Porsches. Terrific scenery along with some of the most challenging roads you can find in the U.S.

    Truly, this is Porsche Country!!!

    Jim

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

Thanks all. I almost forgot the best part. As I was heading back home from the Blue Ridge Parkway (down the mountain) through Pisgah National Forest (Rt. 276); around one of the many turns, heading up the mountain to the Parkway was a brown 993 Targa (I think, or Cab). When it dawned on me it was another P-car, I don't see very many here, I raised my arm and began waving wildly (my top was down again after the brief rain I'd outrun above). I looked in my rear-view mirror to see him waving wildly as we both disappeared around the next turns.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway today (4/3)

    Don,

Perhaps one of our rennteam buds will post some pictures of my "newborn" with their baby when I'm in Germany( and neighboring countries).

Thanks for posting another beautiful picture... my girlfriend in college was from NC and she was as pretty as a picture. Sorry, I digress. How are sales going? Everyone on the east coast probably has a copy by now!
