A huge shout out to Gnil, Porcher, Grant (Julie) and DaveGordon!!! Not on here much these days guys but will start to visit more frequently! Just got home a couple of days ago and thought I'd jump on to see if I could track you all down! It's actually 2.30am at the moment but can't sleep due to jet-lag, lol... I had an amazing time joining Trakcar to complete his ED and it was fantastic meeting all of you. Great group of guys!
We went on to Magny Cours, NBR, L'Anneau Du Rhin and Hockenheim... Lot's of interesting people, lots of amazing cars along the way!
Must say you guys have some awesome facilities there in Europe and I must return to do it again. Regretfully they don't offer a ED program for Australia so I'm thinking it will be by 5 year goal to get there, buy a GT4 or something reasonably priced and trackworthy and do a nice 4-6 month drive/track hop across Europe... Once I'm done I can just sell the scraps if it survives ;) You guys will have to join me!!!

Yep still have the same old 997.2 GT3 and the poor bugger is still copping floggings at the track. It certainly is a small world. We need to learn French and German and hit the EU more frequently, amazing experience!

DaveGordon:Just got back - was great fun. Me, Gnil, Porker, Grant and his girlfriend, TRAKCAR, and 911Rox had a lovely dinner and drinks - plenty of laughs and Porsche talk. Kudos to 911Rox for jumping on a plane from Australia to join TRAKCAR for another 2 weeks of pan-European ED fun! Crazy stuff.

As best as I can tell, a new car is cheaper (and has better insurance) than a rental (if choosing a model like GT4 or something without much depreciation) and traded in for tax credit.

That is maybe the case, I never checked what renting a decent car for four days cost, but it does come with a major downside: You need to time that delivery well and given the delays we have seen with the GT4 and RS I would aim for several months before the course starts. Or you risk standing there with a GT4 in the production line and a tuned Suzuki Swift rental for the course
