It looks basically like the current car with the facelift design elements or variations of them. Expect a bigger visual differentiation vs. the Carrera models with the next generation.

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

Front will be more or less the same  as on 991.1 Turbo.

Rear will use new tail lights and new design exhaust tips which are larger and more square in design.

    Thanks for pics!!

We also could see a new upper side spoiler... right? Maybe given that a more powerful engine..

Regarding the new design exhaust tips, I like it very much! Better than the olders.. Smiley

Can't wait to see new pics..!!!

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

There won't be a new engine in the 991 Turbo/S facelift. The next generation gets a completely new engine as far as I heard.

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

Somwhere I looked that the new 991.2 Turbo will be more powerful, will grow in power to 600bhp...

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

I read 580-600, nothing confirmed yet.

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

Also, whatever happened to the circular tailpipe option on the Turbo?  Was that a supplier issue and ultimately never available to customers?

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

    600 hp is a must

to compete with R8 and etc

i hope it will be again very fast

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

600hp should've been announced for the 991.1 not .2 angry it feels like as if Porsche is competing in 0-100 and 0-200 kph.

Some recent tests for the 550hp GTR showed 0-100 in 3.5s and 0-200 in 12.6, which is very clear that early press cars were nothing more than ringers.

Porsche won't wake up, unless, Nissan releases a new GTR crushing the turbos lap times just like in 2008. (my 2 cents of course heart)

    Re: 991.2 Turbo version

Porsche are limited by the VTG turbo size available, the biggest hot side developed so far is the GT2 version which is currently used in the 991 Turbo S. We have seen the limit of this is about 620PS as in the GT2RS. It is not dead simple to make a bigger VTG hot side for petrol engines they use exotic metals and get very hot indecision

Interesting. How did you get 800 hp then?) another turbo?

My engine was developed to the maximum with the biggest VTG turbos (compressor side) possible and with fully built engine inc cams ported heads bigger tubes everywhere etc the most ot could make was about 750PS and at this level there was big risk of detonation, the heat is too much. They measured over 3 bar back pressure in the exhaust manifold. It is because the hot side of the VTG has to flow ALL the gases, there is no wastegate so it becomes a big bottle neck. I ran that engine to 335kph and data logged and it was evident that around 700PS was the maximum it could produce as the ECU would increase fuelling and reduce boost to keep the exhaust temperatures from critical levels.

Yes 800PS is with conventional K24s with wastegates.... personally I hope Porsche/BW produce a bigger VTG hot side as it means bigger tuned VTG engine for me but my tuner thinks they won't FWIW.

Well, the GTR was never really a competitor.

Porsche won't wake up, unless, Nissan releases a new GTR crushing the turbos lap times just like in 2008. (my 2 cents of course heart)

This could happen though, if Nissan pursues the GTR development. Last year, I heard that Nissan may stop GTR development but so far, I think it has been a good advertisement for them.

The biggest issue in the current 991 Turbo/S is the size of the fuel injectors. They are at the limit. No more than 600 hp possible and if tuners claim more than 600 hp, I would love to see the performance results. So far, I haven't seen any tuned 991 Turbo/S to be more than a second faster from 0-200 kph than stock (I am talking about head to head comparison). Tuners would actually need "only" 50-60 hp more to achieve that.

I am expecting an amazing performance from the next generation Turbo S if the rumors I heard are right.
