Clever from Renault, indeed but not my thing (I guess I'm not their typical customer anyway).
I really like the new A4. Would love to see a RS4 but without the typical RS "war paint".

I would probably never buy it either but hey.... I like it. The car looks modern and has really some great lines. It is classic but also very different.
And hey .... would or will you ever buy an A4? Can only talk for myself and say "No".

I think it's been an English word long enough (1630s), and is used commonly enough, that it is an English word at this point. Interestingly, it seems to come to English through Spanish, from Arabic, and ultimately from the Greek teleo; a lot of actual history wrapped up in the history of the word.

Since the word "Talisman" would not mean anything to any Arab reading it or hearing it for the first time who was not familiar with its etymology it stretches logic beyond its breaking point to suggest that it is not English.

I like the new Avant even more than the saloon
BTW I saw the new ( much-criticised) Q7 on display in an airport and I liked that one too. Even though a confined space like an interior airport display area is not the best place to appreciate a large SUV, the new Q7 looked very right.
I am convinced that Audi know what they doing.

So very true about Audi design. While many will immediately dismiss the design as unadorned and uninspiring, the design is very rich with elements that grow more pleasing and interesting over time.
Even the outgoing A4 remains evergreen with elements that are highly reasoned. For example, look at the interface between the rear quarter panel, taillamp and boot lid. The angle of spoiler on the boot lid is redolent of the spoiler found on the Lamborghini Huracan. The shut line of the rear fascia is replicated and echoed by the taillamp assembly. This is Audi design - every line, crease and shut line was highly debated and excruciatingly refined.
