Whoopsy:Actually to date none of the pictures show the true colour of the Lava Orange. It is very sensitive to white balancing and gamma adjustments so computer monitor image of the car are always wrong. That colour has to be seen in person.
100% agree - although I am happy with my White order the Orange cars we saw in LeMans live looked sensational - specially with the interior in orange as well ! No pics here on RT come close
Lars997:
I was yesterday quickly in Zuffenhausen. It was impressive how many RS are rolling of the band right now. Mostly in white, ultra-violet or salmon.
Isn't there, where you took the photos, a strict general ban on taking pictures?

There is no law not to take pictures of "things". Only taking pictures of people is not permitted.
RC:Private ground...didn't you see the signs? Not that I'm unhappy about the photos.
No signs there! Even private ground - what you can see from the street you can take pictures of!
Different if you are inside the gate - then you have to follow the house rules.
And btw - I was up to finding more stuff.... but sadly nothing new at all, everything was boring

I thought you were inside, it looked that way.
If you want interesting, go near Weissach (main road to and from the development center). It isn't easy to find a good spot for taking photos but if you hide (otherwise you could get a visit from the police or the Porsche "Werksschutz") and have a fast camera, everything is possible. Planned to do this for a long time but never actually had the time. I know that the Werksschutz has no authority on public ground but be careful, some of the adjacent land near or close to Weissach development is the property of Porsche. I once parked on a small road inside a wood close by and the Werksschutz sent me away. Didn't even want to take photos (nothing to see there), I just wanted to eat my breakfast because I had an appointment later.

olli:Porsche paparazzi
He he he...I would know exactly where to hide to take amazing photos but I guess Porsche wouldn't be too pleased.
I remember a guy in a group taking photos with his phone in Weissach after we actually signed some sorts of NDA which included NOT taking photos and all our equipment incl. phones had been locked away at the entrance.
This guy was unbelievable: We entered the "E"-Werk and his phone rang. He replied to the call and then started taking photos of a car covered in black cloth. When our guide saw that, he went nuts. Afterwards, on the track, the "Werksschutz" (factory security) was sitting next to us, so nobody would take photos anymore (actually we didn't have any equipment but that guy ruined the whole experience for us).
I never took photos in Weissach during my visits because I knew that if Porsche finds out, this would be the last time I'll be there. Outside Weissach is a different story though but I think Porsche wouldn't be too pleased to see some high res mule photos making it to the internet.

Lars997:You are so right Björn.
Even my pictures from yesterday are showing the salmon more red. But in real flesh it is really salmon.
It was renamed to Lachs Orange instead of Lava Orange.
IMO, Violet is too eccentric with short term appeal , Lava is too Lachs, White is too common. This leaves GT Silber as the best choice. It suits the RS shape, it contrasts with the black bits and it is a classic Porsche colour.

Btw, I have clocked almost 1000 km/600 mi so far and hope to hit 2000 km/1200 mi by way of way long(ish) distance trip the weekend after next, so the running-in stage should then be behinnd me.
And gradually after that, no more mercy...Hockenheim and Bilster Berg are scheduled to be the first track outings.

I know that corner - old days I was often there.
I have an idea - next time you are in the area we are going there together - armored with the big Nikon guns :)

997TT RS Tuning stage II(sold),2011 Cayenne Turbo(sold),waiting 991 GT3 RS
I have a delivery for first week of September. But will try to get it at least one week earlier if possible. That week I am a the Scuderia hanseat course at the Ring and it would be so frustrating to go there without the RS. My dealer is not optimistic to get it earlier. I do not understand why it can not be shipped to me earlier as I suppose it will be built before the factory holidays.
997.2 C2 , -20mm I 964 Carrera 4 I 991 GT3 RS on order delivery early Sept .
