This "Super Snake" is based on the 5.0 engine and apparently this is not a car developed by Shelby and Ford together (like the last gen GT 500, which was the basis for the Shelby Super Snake model) but by Shelby only, basically a tuned car with a bolt on supercharger, not a highlight from Shelby if you ask me. Especially since the 750 hp power claim is quite low compared to the previous Super Snake.
This car actually seems to confirm what I heard: No more GT500 from Ford. For me, this is a good thing.

noone1:BTW RC, did you want me to ask the local Ford dealer if they have the part you are waiting forever on or is it a warranty repair?
The part has already been shipped from Ford Racing to my mechanic. A German engineer I know has good contacts to Ford Racing and apparently made it happen, I am a lucky guy. Otherwise I'd have to wait another 3-4 weeks before the part ships. In about 2-3 weeks or so, I should have my GT500 back. Car needs a new clutch as well (McLeod's RXT) and some other minor "adjustments", so this doesn't happen again.
Lesson learned: This is no Autobahn car (I was driving over 100 km at full throttle whenever possible...), so I will be more careful next time and use the excessive power only when I need it. I could have invested in a new ("stronger") gearbox and some other drivetrain parts but I do not want to change too much since I may need to switch the car to the OEM state again if I ever want to sell it.

Gladstone:I found one source that claims the GT350 will be using the Tremec TR-3160 transmission. Has anyone else heard about it?
This been confirmed a long time ago as far as I know.

tso:I really would like to test the 350R but the dealer here in Dubai does not have the car on the program, and for a number of reasons I do not want to go down the route of parallel imports. What a shame as I have heard good about it
Same in Germany, no official availability from Ford. Their whole new Mustang "world car" campaign has been basically rendered pointless...
A dealer offered me one for 85k EUR but he wants to give me 50k for my GT500 only. No thanks.

Thanks Topspeed
Matt will buy his GT350R, and then drive the new 640hp Camaro New ZL1 and realize that GM has built the ultimate war hammer. Weighs about the same but so much more power. Funny to think that you will be able to buy both for the base price of a 991.2 Targa S.
Notice the red Shelby Daytona Coupe parked at the start of the video? That thing has to be scary fast.

The motor in the GT350 has so much more character than the supercharged low-rev Chevy though...

I do agree to kill the stripes, just too high school or Woodward.. Ford ust changed their options this week so check them out. I'd go all black. The new mustang body looks awesome in black. If you can wait until Sept you might be able to get away with no second sticker crap.
I would get the rear seat. Less road noise and its easily removed anyway. Without it all that you get is a curved n sloped place that is no good for anything really.

Fresh off the dealer's lot. Could be a record. It's not a 350 though..

I want the GT350R so badly, but Ford Australia isn't bringing the car here despite the regular GT having a two year wait list. Heck, those carbon wheels are made in a township called Geelong (where Ford factory is) about 60km from here! Does anyone know if they are building this in RHD at all? Maybe I can import one myself.

The GT350 R is very difficult to get outside the US. A large Mustang dealer here in Germany has tons of GT350 available for immediate delivery but not a single GT350 R, not even on the close horizon (a friend is seriously interested in one but will probably import a car he found directly from the US).
