The 991 Turbo S is 10k EUR more in Germany, base price. Ouch.
I am curious about the real life 0-200 kph performance of the V10 Plus with 50 hp more than the Turbo S but I am pretty sure that at least in the exhaust/engine sound department, the R8 will beat the Turbo S.

I really like the R8! Would never think I would say this.. but I actually would go for this prior to a 991 turbo S. Love the new virtual cockpit and all the modern technology they have put into the new model.

KresoF1:Christian, 0-200km/h is 9.9s offically for R8 V10 Plus. Same as for Huracan. That means faster then 991 Turbo S, specially above 200km/h. If I remember correctly Huracan was almost 2.5s faster in 0-300km/h then 991 Turbo S.
The numbers are looking great, if just the car would do, too!

in direct comparison with the turbo S i see only one issue: the tiny interior space and the very limited luggage storage capacity.
other than that, all the way....

+1, I really didn't want to say that - because this is a forum on sport cars - but the luggage space really really really put me off when I had my first test drive with the R8 years ago and since then I think the overall car is great and looks great, but this does not work for me....

Luggage space is so important.
This is the biggest sucker on the SLS too. There is not even a good space for your wallet or for the car keys. And - the trunk is an oven - getting so hot, you don't even want to put your boxer-shorts into.
But really - those cars are made to take out for weekend trips. The more I drive the SLS the more I understand the usability of the 911. No other sports car can beat that!
i have already mentioned it a few times but we are regularly doing one-week long and longer trips in the 458 italia. here is the return from munich a few weeks ago, after a one month stay (two persons). a bit frugal, but working.....::::::))))).
impossible in the R8.
Looks like plenty of space in the 488. Has a good amount of space behind the seats too.
I don't really understand why other mid-engine exotics can't give you the same behind the seat volume as Ferrari. They all have a ledge, but the 458/488 goes all the way down if I'm not mistaken.
SciFrog:Ferrari California has the same usability as a 911... Even better actually as we used to fit the stroller in the trunk...
Actually I was thinking about when writing my SLS comments! But then, the California is more a GT than a sports-car.
The 458 trunk looks quiet of spacious. Cool But here you don't have the rear seats. Those 911 rear seats are giving you space to do you moving. You easily can fit a dishwasher and flat TV inside
BTW.... that's the dishwasher I'm talking about:
KresoF1:pmarkow:it is still 230 liters, almost as in the 458. i am not worried about this....
peter
Looks smaller...
We all know about Italian numbers, but isn't 230 litres for the 488 the same as it was for the 458?
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

impossible in the R8.
This would be OK for my wife...for a half day trip maybe.

Seriously?! I can easily fit our luggage (2 people) for a week into the Boxster! It almost sounds like you are moving your complete household contents, every time you go on holiday. Poor you... (Assuming you're the one who has to load in and out )
maybe you should ciosider one of these as yoor next family car
