IMO Porsche are asking a very low price for this car (180K) given the overall performance, feel and emotions, compared to what Ferrari and McLaren charge. Similarly, the GT3 was a bargain.
The rest of the 911 range are rather steeply priced especially the Turbo/S models.
I cannot understand Weissach's benevolent pricing policies

Gnil:I hope there will not be any delay in the preparation !
Congratulations!
How do you like the LO , now that you see it in real sun light ?
I was not aware before that some cars are fitted with Dunlop ...
My dealer got the bill for my car yesterday ...... but there is still a long way until it is in my possession
The building part doesn't take long, my car enters production July 8th and finished July 10th, and Switzerland takes a lot less time to ship to than Canada :)
I was secretly hoping I would get the Dunlops and try them out, heard good things about them from my GT3 friends who had them, it is supposedly a little better in wet condition as the tread pattern is more 'open'. I think I know plenty well with the Cup2s as I had them in my Speciale and the 918. Since they are supposed to wear out faster, I can always change back to Cup2s when they are worn down.
As for LO in direct sunlight, it is a 'loud' colour that for sure and I like it a lot on the RS, looks quite different than when I saw it in Le Mans as that was on a cloudy day. It is one of Porsche's multi-hue colour where different light condition shows different shade. LO simply cannot be reproduced by a computer monitor nor printed material. It has to be seen in person, none of Porsche's official photos nor any other photos of the car shows the true colour, and none of the printed magazines did either, not even Christophorus or Panorama from PCA.

My car entered production at the end of July and is only planed to get out of it next week ( it must be because of the holidays ) and then Exclusive . My painted wents are adding time ..... the car will only be in my hands around the 22nd of September

nberry:The Boxster Spyder is faster than the GT4 around this track? It must be the PDK.
...or the driver? Or the air temperature? Or the road temperature? Or the air humidity? Or the fuel quality? Or... or... or...

Nope, the GT4 is slightly faster (cars ranked in order). The font is weird, but the time is 1:31.52 (to GT4's 1:31.43). And Spyder has 6spd only (no PDK option). Still very impressive for the drop-top!
I think it would take extended lapping before the GT4 would begin to widen the gap as its bigger brakes and tires would begin to resist heat better. Andy maybe a wing adjustment (and front spoiler ducts) for more downforce would help on this track (or the opposite)? GT4 can also adjust its swaybars to good effect (along with proper corner-balancing) to dial in handling while the Spyder is fixed. Still, very impressive for the Spyder. If by chance the Spyder is on its stock street tires, then I am truly in awe!

As you guys can see, the tank was pretty much empty, so I pulled into the gas station to fill up:
There is a bonehead/stupid story about the fill-up, I was expecting the pump to stop at 60L, but when it blew past it without stopping, I was like WTF, start checking for pools of gasoline on the floor, I had completely forgotten I had spec-ed the 90L tank. Never put in so much gas in a 911 before in my life.
Now the money shot, the engine:
Oh wait, completely forgot we can't see the freaking engine, just 2 little fans and a plastic cover, will have to trust Porsche that there is a potent engine in there somewhere.
As for the driving part, well the car sounded glorious even when I limit the shifts to 5k and under, it's a wonderful and fun car to drive even it's the smallest HP car I have. First thing I noticed is the turn in, it just grabs and turn, quite different than my old 997 Turbo S, the wide front tires do help a lot. But they do follow the 'tramlines' on the road a lot, worse than my 918 even when they have the same sized tires.
The car drives WIDE, almost more so than my 918, it is physically bigger than my Turbo S but still, it just feels wide, I don't have that feeling in my 918.
Acceleration is brisk even with 5k rpm limit, but to me it feels 'slow', i guess I was spoiled by the 918, but then again I don't feel 'slow' in my F12 nor FF. Yes it is down over 150HP to even the FF, but my Turbo S 'felt' quicker in acceleration even with a modest 20HP extra. I blamed it on the lack of torque from a small NA engine.
Loved the LWB, while they are the same seats as in the 918, in the GT3RS they are a little bit more lean back, and that tiny bit lean makes all the difference in the world, even my wife said oh these are nice.
I think I am spoiled by parking aids, the RS doesn't have sensors nor camera, so parking the damn thing is an old school exercise, the 991 has grown so big now it's borderline on needing those. That gigantic wing is actually a great help for me, like a giant marker telling me where the rear of the car is, but the 2 side mirrors are pretty much useless though, all I see are 2 big black intake holes.
And yes, I am still bugged by the goldfish headlamp covers, can't get used to them.
There 'should' be more pictures coming, Jason aka atomic80 will be doing a photoshoot of the RS and my 918 tomorrow night, stay tuned for his awesome photos.

I saw this result and didn't want to post it, then I remembered it would upset other members. All the wider a,b,c parts talk from AP is just marketing stuff and more magazines being printed and sold, you get the idea
Congrats Whoopsy!
Since when did they bump the service interval to 40,000km ? or is this only for the Canadian market ?
I know a Mercedes Viano needs to head back to the service center every 30,000km knowing it runs a turbo diesel engine, but 40k is news to me and on a high performance car.
Edit: Ugh! I just the saw other 2 pics, 10k then 20k.
LP997:My car is painted... Finish in the first week of september i hope A delivery end of september :)
We will get our cars nearly at the same time . I can't wait . And will be in Dijon for a track day in October .

Lars997:Cool pictures - nice to see those details.
Delivery was extremely fast Nick.... amazing. It seems this dealer really values you as a premium customer.
Well I forced them to as I am really anxious to drive the car. As I have said, I am really looking forward to this car, more so than when I was waiting for the 918.
They didn't have time to even go out and fill up the gas tank haha.
I have seen the prototypes of the RS a long time ago at Weissach, they weren't confirming what they were but I stick my head inside one of them and see the GT3RS label on the tach :) Ever since I had been patiently waiting to get one.

Cool to read about your passion. You adore and you deserve it! Enjoy!
Oh yes... and as you couldn't wait for filling up... maybe a bad choice to have opted for that 90 Liter tank... 2 Minutes more wait
