RC:2018...991.2 GT3 RS and 992...seems to be 100%.
Th
so...if you have a Gt3 RS MK1...what to do?
I'm first at my dealer for the 3RS Mk2,but i don't know if take it ,of stay with my RS(that like Eric i love more than the first day) and wait the GT 992.
But,maybe the MK2 due of the limited time of production in future will be more interesting..
But, if i take my RS for at least other three years maybe i can buy the 992 GT without sell it...and i would love to take it for a long time.
Really i don't have the need to change it,but sure then they will launch the MK2 will be difficult to resist, but also as soon as the 992 will be out,all the 991 range will be outdated....also the RS .2.
So??

Key issue is whether 992 will be turbo only for GT cars as well. If so it makes sense to get a 991.2GT3RS

That is a very valid point . When 991 GT3 RS was not out, I did find 997.2 GT3 RS to be so much better looking then 997.1 . Once the 991 RS was out , suddenly I 997.2 GT3 RS looked as dated as the 997.1 , to a point where I even started to think that 997.1 looks better ( cleaner and simpler and more brutal ) then 997.2 . Imagine that happens with 991.1 vs 991.2

There will be another special edition model to say good-bye to the 991...the 991 T (or whatever name), a "lightweight" Carrera model for an interesting price (don't expect a real bargain though). Speedster also seems to be still in the rumor mill...basically a 911 R as a Speedster but it could be a Speedster based on the Carrera GTS "only" (depends...).
There is also a rumor of a 991.2 Turbo S with the same power of the Exclusive model but this isn't 100% sure. This model could show up after the 992 is presented, to cope with the time until the 992 Turbo comes.
Does this special edition RS come with a bigger engine or just lightweight?
Joost:such an awesome beast as your salmon mistress only makes those pictures more drool-worthy! Thanks for posting mate!
damm, I posted in the wrong thread . There's one about mistresses ...... just can't remember if it is the GT2 one, the R8 one, the Las Vegas one , maybe the Boxster one ?

So I popped into two dealers today to try to get on a list and/or leave a deposit for an RS. Both said they had no lists and wouldn't take a deposit. If anyone's got any leads for a Swiss dealer that might be able to help, I'd be glad to hear about it..
One of the dealers was Zug/Rotkreuz, and I have to say, they always have some interesting cars there. To my amazement, they had a Dark Viola Metallic 911! This was a colour I discussed with them in the spring for a GT3. Looked amazing, I have to say! They had some lamps on it to try to show how sunlight catches it - lovely colour. I wonder if I inspired the salesman to order it on a stock car - he hadn't heard of it before, but loved the pics I found on the net.
They also had a Brewster Green Macan. Interesting to see that colour in real life too.
I'd been in 2 minds about Kreide / Crayon. They had a couple there, a Turbo which looked a bit washed out, but a GTS with some black details and black side stickers looked really cool. I think the details make it on that colour.

Really cool color Viola, would never dare take it but looks brilliant.
I've never seen my PTS color IRL either, can be a shock good or bad how that turns out.

I also would of liked to see photos ...
Go back to the dealer that does not have a list and ask him to start one . You'll be nr 1
Up to the 991 GT3 RS , my dealer did also not have a list . I started it
Maybe if you go back a few times to that dealer, insisting each time , they will take you seriously and make sure you get one . Those sales guy see a lot of people , many not being too serious , so if they don't know you they might brush you off a bit until they get convinced . I would go back , and insist ....... ask them to make sure you can get one . Eventually they will .....

The farmer:Sorry to have to tell you guys, but this was never a first in, first served business..... Like it or not, but in order to get the “hot” cars you need to position your self, like in any market where you want sucsess.
Sure, fully understand that. I'm just not in a position to buy tons of cars and get higher priority. I happen to like trackdays, and the GT3/RS is the only car Porsche makes that interests me.

That is a good thing that you should build on. You use and track your car, so you should be able to convince you dealer that it is in their and especially PAG’s interest to let a guy like you get priority when buying one of their track cars. PAG want their GT cars to be seen on tracks. “Rodeo drive” drivers could use something else and should not be prioritized, no matter how many cars they’ve bought in regard of GT cars.
Good luck!

Dave, The farmer might have a point . Maybe they think you are just a guy trying to make some money on a GT car , like many want to do .
You need to convince them . That' s why I also suggest that you go back a few times and explain what you want with insistance . If not taken seriously , maybe ask to speak to the boss, or at least send him an email , or even a letter . You need to be pushy ....... drop your British politeness and discretion You are in the queue , don't just stand in line politely ...... jump it

Send your wife in instead. "My husband is a big Porsche fan and for his birthday I wanted to get him this new Gee Tee Three Are Ess". Then ask if she can leave a $20K deposit on her CC and if it can be delivered by Sunday.
They won't think she's there to flip it and they'll sell her one if they can.

Thanks guys - some useful advice there.
The guy I spoke to at Rotkreuz explained they don't have a list as such, but when they can enter the orders into the system, they do, then the boss decides who gets them. I think I will indeed see if I can make contact with him and try and make my case as an enthusiast who would actually use it.
noone1:Send your wife in instead...
Haha - not a bad plan! Just need to find a wife first . There is a line of thought which suggests I should concentrate on that more than messing about with cars...
@Dario - I'll just leave this here for you . Maybe I should send it to the boss of the PZ to show him I'll use it properly
