Whether Autocar is full of crap or not, there is one (or more than one) new very fast 911 GT car coming. Autocar could be clueless and still have some true content in there.

Nick - I am already on the list for a 991.2 GT3 and I can't really afford this car. Even if the 4.2L is real, it would almost certainly be too expensive for me, reserved for the 918 owners, or both...

Many people (myself included) are speculating that the exhaust and body parts indicate a turbo car rather than NA. But remember when AP delighted at all the incorrect internet speculation that the 991.1 RS was going to be turbo because of the side intakes?? Maybe intentional mis-direction here again?

I have not read their magazines so I can not say anything about those but this type of reporting/speculation are just damaging their brand. One guy takes a photo: Another do some guess work and then all the other web sites runs the rumor mill without doing any thinking at all.
All they want is traffic.

I'm not sure Nick will miss the high revving engine but he will miss the sound, the "crisp" drive feel, the steering, the PDK (sportier than in the 991.2 Carrera), the throttle response and the overall greater emotional involvement. If not, well...then the GT3 was wrong for him in the first place. Smiley

I get it that he gets bored with a car after two years (actually, I get bored faster... Smiley ) but the logical switch from a GT3 would be a GT3 RS or a 991 R in my opinion. Or the upcoming GTS.

This whole list thing before models are being announced is beyond ridiculous. What car manufacturers should do is to announce a model, set a minimum price then Dutch auction the production in set increments of time, every 3 months, 6 or whatever. Then to be fair they could have a lottery for a portion of the production at the minimum price. Everybody wins.

At low speed the mechanical sound from the gearbox and the deep intake sound is really nice from within the car.

But I actually like that the car can be driven relatively silent.
