deal is sealed......i went for the car that is awaiting to be shipped.
lots of thoughts and was definitely my toughest car buying decision. but with the possible changes in Import regulations...if they come into effect, who knows.
so better to have a six Speed now then to have to pay 3 times as much in the near future....
on another thought, while i certainly agree that it is always best to have the latest tech, i am not sure on how great the changes are in real life driving situations. the rapide will be a daily Driver not a Weekend fun car.
my X6M also has a 6speed Transmission and frankly i do not think that the upcoming x6m with possibly the 8speed Auto will be THAT much of a better car. especially in City commutes.
anyway, it's done and i am quite looking orward to it.

Congratulations, you really seem to want that car and this is what is the most important thing.

i have not been given an exact date yet, but car is at shipping terminal awaiting to be loaded. i believe i should have it in 3-4 weeks max. i will first have it licensed and covered in 3m before taking delivery.

and yes RC...of all the Options that i was thinking of...G63, CLS 63 S, BMW i8 or next C63, this is by far the one I want the most.
funnily with the aston, outright Performance figures come in second place. surely a car that does 0-100 in 4.9 seconds is considered very slow in today Terms. but as with the C63 or SLS, when driving them there is no Need to push the cars beyond legal Limits as the engine Sound etc. already provides a nice driving experience.
so very different from the 997 Turbo i had or my 997 gt2 that had to be driven very hard to get sensory satisfaction.

Turning on the engine inside garage in the morning will be already an event, the V12 roars like a true sports exotic, it´s the kind of car that even without moving is already playing with all your sences.

Mithras:intouch, how are you liking the Rapide? I"ve just been given my marching orders and my wife wants one (I won't be buying new). Her only issue is that it doesn't come in manual!
how much is a pre-owned Rapide? you not considering the new Panamera??

It would be predominantly my wife's car and she has no (as in less than zero) interest in a Panamera. We were driving to work this morning alongside a DBS and she turned to me and had the following conversation;
"After your next deal closes I'd like to get an Aston Martin like that."
"Ok, but you know that only has two seats."
"No, I want the four door one with a manual in dark grey."
"They don't make the Rapide in a manual."
"Why not?!? That's stupid. I thought men liked Aston Martins too. Who wouldn't want a manual?"
Sometimes I really love my wife, even when she's trying to blow my yet to be earned dough.

Mithras......like it a lot. Havent done much miles in it so cant comment on technical problems.
elegant car with a lovely sound.......
the 8 speed is supposed to be better than the 6 speed I have. but I am fine with the way the 6 speed drives.

I was driving the new Vanquish S over the week-end - and Boy WHAT a CAR !!!!!!
Seriously - how they made this exhaust legal is beyond me - but the whole car is off-the Charts. Yes it's not having the latest tech on Transmission etc - but everything else I was blown away......
