CloseI for one love LR, always have, always will. I have a soft spot for their vehicles. This concept for the new discovery looks great IMO ! I know some of the other members here like LR and RR so thought I;d share this with you.

Enma: I like it too (yes I'm one who still has a '11 RR Sport and still loves it as an all-round tourer/off-pavement explorer) - but I also feel that LR should have done more to distinguish the Discovery "lineup" from the Range Rover vehicles…. this echoes the new RRS a bit too much IMO. The result is too rapid a change from the old Discovery utilitarian and functional look, to the new sleekness of the RR lineup. Of course this assumes the concept is fairly close to final… if not we could still see some changes to final editions.

After my painful attempt to buy a RR due to their stupid build and allocation process I refuse to look at any JLR products ever again. I am going to stick to German manufacturers and their efficient build slot process. And I hate saying that since I am British.

So this is the Discovery Sport ? A smaller Discovery version supposed to replace the Freelander, no ?
And then there should be the real Discovery , coming out later ?
It looks ok to me... maybe too close to the Range Rover Sport ( the back is nearly exactly the same )
I drove a Discovery the other day, and was positively impressed. Specially by the inside space, and feeling . It is a bit of a truck, but it's part of it's charm.

They are so boring now. Loosing all the classic, fascinating edges. But clearly - this rear looks much much better than current RR Sport.
Anyway - why are those brand so boring - going once with a design and just repeating it over and over again. Evoque made the beginning and now all the cars are looking like. BOOORING!

Sorry, I would say it was the big German co's that started, and continue, this trend, witness the bMW 3-5-7 series, Audi A3-4-6-8 etc. I would guess despite our complaints it is successful and profitable, or they would make all cars very different. Jaguar has avoided this so far with each car having a distinct personality, but maybe this too will end...

OMG the old Discovery was one of the last no nonesense designed cars on the planet. From that to this fashionable rounded thing is probably THE WORST back wards steps i've ever seen in a car design. Wow! Horrible poor job

This is not the OLD DISCOVERY , this is the NEW FREELANDER . It replaces the later and there will be the ''normal'' Discovery a bit later . This one is called Discovery SPORT .
In the video you see the size much better
