RC:
You guys remember when I claimed that the SPORT AUTO Supertest dyno measurements for the 991 Turbo S were incorrect? SPORT AUTO claimed that the test car had 607 hp. I claimed that, based on my information, they had used an incorrect correction factor and many here didn't believe me.
In the latest SPORT AUTO, they finally admit it. Very interesting article about dyno testing in general (using a 991.1 Turbo S).
I don't recall anyone arguing with you
The idiots inputted the OBD intake temperature which was used for the correction factor calculation. this was 62 C which is pretty high and led to an inaccurate correction
It's funny, Gemballa and a few of the other not so credible engine guys used to do this trick all the time years ago ie using the post intercooler intake temperature as the Ausauglufttemperatur when they should be using the ambient air temperature going into the air filter,
It is even more complicated now as modern turbo cars like this one adjust the boost constantly and allow for atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature to quite a degree so applying any type of correction is becoming a debatable point.
