The 959 oh yes! The 993 GT is fake, badge should read GT not GT2, lovely colour though.

Crayphile, I've only seen this thread, your Singer is stunning, congrats! The interior just as nice as the exterior, RHD so I presume it will be in the UK, it's a shame RHD cars don't have a footrest, that's very annoying for spirited driving.

Are you around London? If so I presume your car will be looked after by Greg at Heritage Auto Werks, he's a top man and a true friend, if that is the case we should meet there for coffee and chat cars! He looks after my cars and I'm there quite often. Enjoy your singer!kiss

Yes the 959 looks amazing, so pure in the classic silver paint.  Where was it located?

Are you/do you know the owners or did you just come across it?  For some reason I associate this colour rather with the 80s or 90s. It looks a bit too modern for the retro concept of Singer.

Silly question on the side, what does the M on the license plate stand for? Monaco, Malta?

Re: Donor vehicle for Singer Vehicle Design

    M is for Malta

Re: Donor vehicle for Singer Vehicle Design

Re: Donor vehicle for Singer Vehicle Design

London is finally home, and its been a very "analogue" Easter weekend (more later). It has felt strange driving it here in England having experienced an unforgettable drive in it in California last December but I feel at home in it now after three days.Once one has torn oneself away from just gawping Smiley at its beauty ( of course I am biased SmileySmiley) these are the stickers on the rev counter and speedo that one is greeted with:

    IMG_3538.jpg

In fact there are a whole host of unfamiliar sounds and smells that you are assaulted with as the car fires up, warns up and then comes alive as you push harder on the road. The car feels like its alive and talking back to you in every move you make. The steering is heavy with a giant turning cycle during low speed manoeuvres but comes alive as the speed increases. There is that wonderfull wriggle in your hand that you only get from an old 911 as you push the car harder or over  bumps. The engine demands to be revved (its really not happy below 3.5K) and the whole car is set up to be driven. You only really need up to third (naughty) or 4th gear  up to motorway speeds. The clutch is very light with a high bite point. I'm still finding 1st to second a bit difficult to nail, but all the other changes are smooth and precise. Around country rounds in the dry its traction is inscrutable and the whole set up inspires a huge amount of confidence as do the brakes (but they are in no way a match for say a 991 GT3RS). The seats are incredibly comfortable and the whole interior is just exquisite . There is a Becker head to the sound system and a fold away Parrot touch screen tablet  - but not surprisingly I have not found the need to turn these on as yet Smiley. On the smell front there is some fuel smell when pushing really hard  (normal for Singers  - but they are working on it) and the clutch lets you know its heated up too on steep drives like mine when I reversed up a few times with less than perfect rev matching Smiley. More about life with London in due course, but here are some shots of her on arrival day and then earlier today when I took her to meet her Italian friend which I have not driven till today as I was waiting for better weather and new tryes to be fitted to it. Driving these two back to back was a real pinch yourself experience.

Your F40 is so cool. Coolest modern Ferrari by far, IMO.
