    Passenger Window Drops 1/2 down when convertible roof is closed

    I purchased a 2012 Turbo S Cab new 2 1/2 years ago.  From day 1 when I close the convertible top (after driving with the top down) all the windows close as they are supposed to except the passenger window closed completely then drops down 1/2 way.  It doesn't always do this but I'd say at least 30-40% of the time it does this.  Porsche has told me it was an adjustment and of course they would fix it.  2 1/2 years later it still is doing the same thing.  They have elevated the problem to regional HQ here in the US.   The roof has been resealed, the motor replaced, etc...  

    Does  anybody else have this problem or have any idea on what is going on.  If it wasn't happening from the day I bought his car 2 1/2 years ago it wouldn't be that big of an issue.  But this is ridiculous already.  Someone had mentioned that maybe the window should be replaced which hasn't happened yet.  Maybe someone was asleep when they built my car.  So far the PSAM has failed, ABS has failed.  All electronic problems, nothing mechanical and these have all been fixed.  Two of my friends have the same exact car built a couple of months earlier with not a single problem.

    I know this sounds crazy but has someone messed around with the ECU (tuning) in the past?

    I have experienced similar issues on our current, and previous, cabriolets. Seem to happen when the window cannot close properly. Mostly in the winter due to icing, but also in the summer for no reason what so ever...

    I think I had it on one of my 997 coupes too for a while. Then it went away by itself.

    might want to take a longer look at the by state lemon law info. it is a whole little section within the owners manual materials, or it was in my '07.

    What happens when you try to lift the window up manually via the door switch right after this occurrence? Does it go up directly? If you lower it all the way and then upwards again?

    Ferdie,

    It works fine when you manually raise it via the door switch right after this.  I don't have to lower it.  I can raise it straight up.  I brought it back to the dealer last week and we observed it.  Actually when the roof is closed and the windows start to raise after the roof locks, the passenger window goes up but doesn't hit the roof and then drops.  It goes up about 3/4, stops and then drops to the 1/2 point.   The dealer told me they are going to spend 2 or 3 days taking the door/window apart and looking for the problem.  Of course this can't occur till August 27th since that is the earliest they have a loaner car.  I'm not opportunistic since this is the 5th time we are doing this.

    I have this issue on my Turbo, the passenger window closes and then opens again half way as if something was stuck in it.  It happens I would say 1 out of every 20 times I close the window. It also doesnt' matter if I close it via one touch or I keep my finger on the button, it still opens.  My sunroof had the same issues, it would just open half way again when I try to close it.  I've told my dealer about this problem and they've said they've sorted it out but it still does it, all be it less frequently....

    Could it be a weak/faulty battery?

    For a while my windows behaved erratically. Not the same symptoms as above but abnormalities nevertheless.

    I changed the battery and all problems were gone.
