    991 Turbo Facelift?

    Now we may know how the facelift will look alike. Not a huge difference, apparently slimmer front turning lights (less Panamera-like, thanks god) and bigger tail lights. Just a guess though...judging by the looks of this crashed test mule.

    Speculation No. 1: Same engine with minor modifications and 580 hp.

    Speculation No. 2: Completely new boxer engine, maybe even in a tri-turbo setup (to set it apart from the rumored bi-turbo counterparts in the 991 Carrera facelift) with up to 600 hp.

    I expected the completely new "Turbo" engine in 2018 or 2019 but it could come earlier. The 911 Turbo facelift is expected for 2016, latest.

    Will be interesting how they differentiate between the TT and new regular turbo'd CSs....Hopefully there will be some! Maybe Electric Turbos like Audi is demonstrating....

    As far as I know this is not the facelift Turbo - I guess its the 991 GTS!

    I have been two weeks ago in the factory on a factory tour (had some guest over which wanted to see the tour). So after half of the factory a guy came and said we cant go any further with the tour as some prototypes are on the factory line. After digging a bit down with the guide and some guys over there I got the prediction it might have been the GTS!

    Lets see!

    Actually... this is the same front and it has some side vents - so yes it might be a Turbo

    Check this car - it also has the side vents down in the bumper.... maybe a GTS? Also check the grill.... completely different

    And the Turbo with the same front skirt

    It might be the FL model Carrera with the 3.0 L turbo engine.

    580 hp is not the game changer! at least 600 hp is needed!

    The car in the photos is a Turbo, according to rumors the 991 Carrera GTS gets a different exhaust pipe design (middle, similar to GT3 but not quite...).

    We are talking facelift here, not the next generation Turbo.

    The cabrio in the first picture has no Turbo wing but only the bumper side vents. Strange

    ..or buy a used 991 Turbo and later trade it in for the 991.2 Turbo (if you feel the need).

    the problem is I live in Lebanon, not a very large market, so not many options available...only used cars available are 991 CS or regular Carrera's....don't think I can drive one for two years coming from a 6 years of Turbo driving....:)

    Well, how long do you want to wait? In 2018 or 2019, the next generation could show up, so it won't be different from now. You can always wait and wait and wait... Smiley
