    Ferrari NA Contact

Fellow board members, anyone have a contact at FNA that I can lodge a complaint with?

Most of you know I just bought a Speciale and taking delivery tomorrow, it seems like The dealer is having second thought about selling me a walkin, the car as I think they have a 'loyal' customer who really want the car and now is trying to put up all sorts of road blocks to try and back out of the deal, the latest was trying to charge me extra even when we had a handshake and a signed agreement.

While the amount is my muchc, it is a matter of principle and proper business conduct.

I knew there was a reason why I haven't been a Ferrari owner for all these times.

thanks for the help in advance.

That sounds really bad. hopefully they can come through on their promise.

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

I was up in the NYC showroom last Tuesday for the California T premiere and the only "contact" I have is Yulia V Paul who is a "Product Specialist".  Hopefully she can help or put you in touch with the right people?

I'll PM you her contact details.  Good luck!  :)

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

Unfortunately I dont have a contact but I completely agree - these is no business ethic and probably not what a luxury brand should stand for. I heard that premium on sales price many times in NA - we dont have this in Europe - you might have a wait time, but that's it.

In your case - I would directly write to Luca de Montezemolo in Italy.... we are living in a global world, why hesitating with any lowballer in NA?

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

If you have a signed agreement, depending on what it says, I don't know how they'll get out of this one.

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

Being the asshole that I am, I utilized my contacts and found the number to the GM, gave him a call 2 in the morning about what happened.

    All sorted now.

I can play games too, and my type of games are dirtier.

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

So the dealer has screwed two relationships - you're not likely to trust him any more and the "loyal" customer isn't going to be happy either.

    Way to go!

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

Sounds like the average McDonalds cashier understands customer service and basic business principles better than that dealer!   Do people ever consider the consequences of their actions any longer?  Doing things the correct way is perhaps a bit more expensive in the short run but it is the only way to last and be profitable.  Even the VIP the dealer was trying to hold the car for would have considered the dealer suspect for doing that to another customer.  The best he could have hoped for is to piss off Nick and have a VIP customer who knows he is not honorable.  Explaining to the VIP that the car was sold (and that he treats people fairly) and offering him to find something even better was his only real solution and the only way to earn everyones respect.  He may not have sold the VIP a car or even lost some money but he would have had everyones respect - without that he is out of business in a year.

    Go get them (bad-ass) Nick!

That is ballsy of you to call at 2am and impressive that he answered at that time (or did you just leave a VM?) and gave you the service you deserved.  Glad it worked out.

Now that you've had this wonderful sales experience where are you going to have the car serviced?

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

Nick, glad you stood your ground. But I would not let it go. After you get your car continue to elevate the issue to Ferrari headquarters in Italy. You could give the GM credit and point out this is the first of possibly many Ferrari's and you need to know if their dealerships can be trusted.

Of course the point of this is getting future limited production cars. Make yourself known and in doing so climbing list of important clients.

With Ferrari it is who you know and do they know you.

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

Which clearly didn't work with this "loyal" customer!

I would argue otherwise. But for the signed agreement and Nick taking additional action the dealer would have found a way to back out of the deal on behalf of a loyal customer assuming their was one. I suspect the dealer was offered more money for the car by a customer off the street.

    Re: Ferrari NA Contact

I always believed in an eye for an eye. If someone makes me miserable I will returns the favour. Same thing if I was valued I will go out of my way to repay.

I will still go back there for service. In fact, I think I might get better than normal service as they will surely know I am the trouble maker and wouldn't want to piss me off twice.

Vancouver is a tiny car market, there is only 1 Ferrari dealer, and they don't get close to enough allocations, which is why they can play the games they play. Most people play it. Somehow I am always the rebel and never really care to obey existing rules.  indecision

Oh, Nick, FNA WILL hear about it, no doubt. But whether to escalate to Italy will depends on what the reply is.

This is already a second company to operate the Ferrari franchise, the last one lost it due to games they played. Getting people to order news cars even when they don't want it, have it titled and then buy the car back at msrp so they can jack up the '2nd hand' cars prices by a mile.

I actually think the most likely scenario was he wasn't expecting me to say yes to buying the car in the first place, within a couple minutes of showing me the car.

He knew I am expecting a 918 in August, so he probably figures I will pass on the car as I will be dropping a mil next month and there is no way I will spend another 500k on a whim just before that. He planned to call people on the list after but I denied him that opportunity. This car was a 'sold' car, so no one was expecting to have a shot at it. But people talk, dealership people talk, those chit chat will get back to existing customers in no time and when they heard about it, they raised hell with the sales department on why they wasn't notified.

I also learnt the story behind the cancellation, it was ordered by a young mainland chinese kid, ordered was placed 2 years ago, but seems like he can't pay for it now, I suspect daddy turned off the tab.

More likely his dad works in the government and the crack down in the last year or so on corruption, indulgence, and foreign assets has taken it's toll.
