TurboRalf:
Lars997, might be a bit difficult to understand the impact of a Volvo commercial with Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaking the national anthem during an election year, where racist voices are increasingly getting attention, if you are not Swedish.

Magnesium Spyder wheels in platinum satin!! I am gonna have that on my car!
Maybe a silly question, but isn't that going to add weight to your light weight wheels, or does this come instead of the standard paint?

While my car hasn't arrived yet, the matching luggage set has.
Just picked them up today, but no car to put them in :(
Yes, that's how small it is, that's a iPad Air in there for scale. The U shape opening has a separate zipper that unzips, raising the U 'mouth' up a few inches to 'expand' the size from a tiny 30L case to a still tiny 40L case. But at the expanded size it won't fit under the roof panels in the front trunk anymore.
My always considerate wife, dead panned : That suit case is cute, is it just for my shoes?
The strap there is for looping the 2 garment case with the pull case. It is made out of seat belt, the green trim matches the seat belts I ordered.
What a surprise, I can actually get real info from the pissing match thread on fchat, aka the 918-P1-LaF.
Someone talked to Mark Lieb about the 6:57, he didn't ran out of power, someone told him over the radio to back off.
Wonder what time he could have set had he kept his foot in.

I don't think Marc Lieb backed off.
All other times (besides a 6:59 on the day before) where north of 7 minutes.
Speaking of the 918, had another chat with Porsche Canada yesterday. Of the 6 initial cars for Canada, only one has a production scheduled, and it's not mine :(
I had a epiphany yesterday in the toilet again. The wait for the 918 is like sitting on the toilet with a bad constipation, It's coming little by little at first, a little bit of satisfaction, but you know the main event is still stuck somewhere, you know it's coming but you don't know when. The wait is killing you and you can't really doing anything to help it along, it comes at it's own pace. The anticipation is really killing you, you want to give up and walk away but you can't.
The parallel is unbelievable.

What did the (ahem) "luggage" cost you? Hopefully, it was included in the price of the car. Also, when are they estimating you will get your car?
BTW, I for one would like to see you switch exterior color. Black is a style killer.

19.9k US$ plus tax if you want to know :)
I was told it's is still on track for August delivery, so anytime between end of June to sometime in July for it to enter production. From the time it enters production floor, it takes about 3 weeks to get to me. One on the floor, one in validation and one for packing and shipping time.

I 'think' that's a Porsche employee, specifically from the 918 team, wearing that shirt. A bit of acid green is showing on the left side of the jacket.
Probably not Walliser, he is very fit and doesn't have the tummy as seen in this photo.
OMG, McLaren said they will not submit a car and have no interest on a head to head and may not set a time at Dunsfold. Their own developmental track!!!
The official excuse was it will not be a true representation of what their car can do. WOW. I cannot believe their said that. If setting a time on a track is not representation of what their car can do, what is? Getting 90miles to the gallon? 20 miles on electric charge? A capable sports car that can seat 3? We know they can't achieve none of the above. So what do they think will be a true representation?
This time around, I think McLaren has truly lost the battle and the war. Cutting production target by 25% from 500 to 375 in order to have a chance to claim a sell-out, didn't release a time for the Ring, didn't want to do a head to head against the 918 on their OWN HOME TRACK!!! I can understand not wanting to go head to head at the Ring as it was Porsche's de facto home track on home turf, but Dunsfold too?
During the P1's development, they must have had hundreds if not thousands of lap times recorded, could it be that none of those even came close to the still unreleased 918 time?
I am a McLaren fan, always was and still is, loved the F1 and that's why I bought the 12C, to have a piece of McLaren. But the P1 is truly a disappointing product from McLaren, it was nothing more than a cash grab.
Man, while I had already committed to the 918, I have even more respect for the Frank walliser and his 918 team. They made a 'pig' that flies, performance that will shame all challengers, AND one of the most fuel efficient car on the market right now. I wonder how Porsche or anyone else can top that for foreseeable future. The 918 is not a step ahead, it's more like a mile ahead.

What is wrong with Mclaren declining the head to head? It will only reduce the confidence customers have in their products, they aren't yet in Ferrari's position....
Their PR department seems to be running by 2 polar opposite persons, one takes control on odd months and the other even months. There is no consistency or continuity at all. The head doesn't know what the body, let alone the tail is doing.
McLaren's claim of the P1 to be the fastest on tracks is still fresh, ink hasn't even dry yet..........
If they are in Ferrari's position, they can do what they are doing right now, no need for head to head or track times or anything performance oriented and it won't matters. But they are not. They NEED the performance to back up their wild claims. They NEED to deliver on their promises and stake a claim that they are for real and other manufacturers needs to worry about them. And they didn't deliver. Nadda. Zip. Zero.
Right now if I were a P1 customer, I will be REALLY worried that I bought something that wasn't as promised. I would have zero confidence in McLaren's product and would probably unload the car asap to minimized losses. People buy the P1 on the promised performance. And perhaps the perceived appreciation potential based on the F1. I bought my 12C based on the claimed performance, they did delivered and I am super happy with my car. They didn't deliver on the P1.
A 918 buyer on the other hand buy the car based on the technology merit, the performance is secondary and the appreciation potential tertiary.
I am really glad I didn't buy the P1. Had I bought I am will be royally pissed at McLaren right now for chickening out.

This is, besides the fact that they make extremely ugly cars, one of the main reasons why I don't like McLaren. It's nothing more than a bunch of people with a big mouth. The brand reflects Ron Dennis' personality perfectly!
