Thanks the passenger was actually my oldest daughter so took her first and discover the car. Yes all cars that passes me were on slicks tires, I was in the race group. The white 997 turbo is a friend who I was filming and explained him the track but it is a techart close to 600cv and 800nm, special chassis and brake. I can tell you the gt3 was performing very well. What I did not like was the chassis balance too much under steer so I got this corrected now. I have also install titanium brake line, pagid pad, race brake oil. I had the Michelin cup 2 on the car but did not like them so took the Pirelli trofeo R. The car is all ready excep the engine now schedule for 17.5. I am really looking forward to next track and see if the car with the changes has improved, I hope so.

Too much understeer in the GT3? How did you correct that?

I am very surprised about what you say about the Cup 2: I have tested them on my 458 Speciale and they perform very very well!

Yep changed camber front and rear and lower car, will see but this more track focus chassis, hopefully it is drivable. I have also installed the rear Cargraphic exhaust, really nice sound

@nberry on the MSC2 maybe that was due to the camber being OEM but clearly had not much front grip, the rear was fine though. June will be a good test as will go to same track with the changes.

BTW you are not Nick from Monaco ?

Phil. How much could you adjust the front negative camber without running into issues of replacing the lower toe arm with an adjustable type? Factory say -1"30' front and rear. Can you share your new Geo settings? Im unwilling to adjust the ehight lower but I an curious how much you dropped the car?

I understand from another owner who has used the car on track you cannot take the front beyond -2".0' without changing components. Was this your experience.

For brake lines can you post the supplier? Titanium brake lines I have not heard of before but interested.

Lastly I assume you change fluid to SFR?

Thanks for above. I have a Sharkwerks bypass already to be fitted after engine replacement but this is for sound mostly as its is only the centre muffler replacement.

My next use of the car will be on teh track so i would like a nice set of improved settings to use when I go out and I am curious as to your settings...

I'm surprised it's so little - that is very tame (fine for aggressive street, but not for track).

@nberry, ok thanks, you have almost the same name as a friend

@macca, i need to check the measurement, as when I was supposed to take the car back from another garage, it was recalled. What I have seen under the car is that I have two additional spacers at the front and 1 at the rear. I will try to get you the details. As far as height, it is at the lowest a bit more at the front than rear. Another firend did a less agressive camber with one spacer at the front and less lowered. Will see who is right...will try to get the measurement done with the laser.

For the brake line I had them produced from a specialist who took the Goodridge but they had them produced for me on the 991. The have a special lenght so they took my former in order to have the proper measurement.

For the fluid, yes correct SRF.

For the pads, the RS29 (yellow)

Phil. Thanks for the update.

It sounds like you have gone beyond -2'.00" at the front. Spacers are one way to go but the cleaner solution is to use the elephant racing adjustable front lower arms with the two holes. You can also buy these with a rotating bearing and lock plates so they are infinately adjustable. They replace the factory lower control arm (see below).

Im not sure on lowering the car. I do believe it will assist by lowering centre of gravity further but it is already very low. However I have no doubt it will look and handle better with your settings.

I think the challenge is finding a nice bvalance between road and track. The factory 1.30 is conservative I have found form prior ownership of GT3 & RS. I think I will try -2'.10" front and -1.80 rear to start and see what happens from there. Im keen to try the Trofeo when the MPSC2 are finished although I already have MP Super Sport for the road landed and waiting to be fitted for winter track and general road driving...unfortunately by the time my car is back on the road it will be winter downunder.

Im very interested to acquire some of these brake lines. Could you PM me offline the details if they are available to buy. Do they still retain the approval codes etc?

Thanks for the pad details. Yes RS29 is a very good place to start. I think Ill muse the factory pad up first. Its seems ok. It squeals a little when dusty so I suspect its reasonably abraisive.

Hi Macca, thanks for the control arm, I will look at this. Just took this picture yesterday at the center but you don't see mcuhWill take other pictures when the car will be on the lift. I could not find the cambers details in the car and will check when the car is on the lift. Below is where the brake line where bought / done.

It is being reported that engine replacement priorities will be by the date PAG received the order for the car. The Middle East got their cars relatively early. We in the US has it always has been got the cars last.

Today the Middle East owners were advised their engine would be produced in the latter part of May and delivery a week after that. (What happened to all the engines they have been building since April 21st?) They do not anticipate getting their cars until mid-June if not later. Where does this leave those of us in the US? Up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

More than likely US customers will not see their cars until August or September. It would also explain why those who have ordered 2014s' but not built have received build dates in October/November with 2015s' built shortly thereafter.

I cannot believe Porsche would think this time table is acceptable. crying

I would't like that at all.

Who else would do that that? No way they can ship the cars back to germany for a simple engine swap which takes a few hours. Trust me. The shipping would be far more damaging than an engine swap at the dealer. Just don't want to be the first one. After a couple the techs will be doing them in their sleep. Not complicated at all.

I would't like that at all.

It is a simple job for a trained technician. I've seen it done several times at authorised workshops for replacement engines after intermediate shaft bearing failures.

All 911 engines are exchangeable in minutes - it's done all the time. Any Porsche mechanic with any experience can do it with his eyes closed.
