Normally aspirated 991 RSR has these too...
Wouldn't it make sense to be turbocharged with future GT3-regs in mind? Not saying I'm praying for it, quite the opposite.

It's been suggested and debated, but I think normally aspirated.

The question is how much more power are they going to extract from the naturally aspirated 3.8 liter engine safely for a production road car. After all they keep on adding power with every gen car. Its a matter of time they either increase the engine size or go turbo.

Some rumors suggest 4.0L with over 500hp...

Since there is no more GT2 (Turbo S is too fast) and given that the new RS looks crazy over the top... I know for sure it will be a great 4.0L machine with at least 550hp.

I keep thinking, that fuel door is a fake, there will be a central tank filler door right in the middle of the hood.
That would be cool, but not so practical for a road car, I think. Of course, the GT3RS is not so practical for a road car in other ways too. Good suspicion there...

4.0L and 550hp would mean 137.5 hp/L. That is a pretty difficult target to meet - would be a new world record for specific output by naturally aspirated road-legal motor. I think the current champion is the 458 Speziale with 133. Porsche is at a big disadvantage by having to use 6 large displacement cylinders - easier to make high specific output with smaller cylinders (and smaller/lighter moving parts like pistons, valves, etc.).

550 hp out of 4.0 L naturally aspirated, the car would scream If it reved Over 8000 RPM.
It would likely need to rev over 9,000 rpm to make that much power
