It was only walk by and all the cars had their front pointed away, only see the the unmarked rear. I took a naughty nosy head through the window peek for the tech.

Some cars have RS on the centre lock cover and some only has plain ones. There are all sorts of camouflage on the body so I can't real yell what's really underneath.

The stance on the other hand seems lower.

Call me "glass half full" but I'm guessing they try to reduce the frontal area of the car with that so less drag maybe even more air for the wing :)

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

Looks like really WIDE front tires ala the new Camaro Z28 (305) - that is the only way you can turn HIGH G's in corners.  This thing is going to handle like it is on rails!

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

As said earlier in this thread. What's with the roof? Do we need a concave roof like every other sports car these days?  What's next?  Chrome fender vents behind the front wheel with an embossed "RS" icon?  And I don't want to hear how the Sport Classic justifies the existence of a concave roof. Smiley

Leave the basic shape alone already.

Is it possible for anyone to tell from the above pics whether or not this car is equipped with rear wheel steering?

No, you'd need a better close-up photo of the rear wheel (if the control arm is visible).  All rumors say no rws for RS.

Looks very extreme! So curious for the final result!

Guess that nobody is going to drive this one on a daily basis? I think my 991 GT3 is just on the limit. What do you think?

I think it's a shame they have to use the Turbo side intakes, it ruins it for me.

I agree with you. They'd rather stylize the RSR's side intakes on the road car.

I am pretty sure the final spoiler will be different. Big , but not so extreme. Better integrated. It has always been like that with previous GT prototypes.

@Porker : I am still on the list for one ..... But I am also one interested in the 650S. Will take a test drive in May.

I have seen 2, maybe 3 different spoilers at the Weissach workshop, so don't pay too much attention to the spoiler yet, it will change.

I have always liked  Lamborghini , but somehow I could not have one as my main sports car , specially on track. Maybe I just find them too show off for me as a driver , even if I really like all Lamborghini

Porsche is working on a track monster with the 991 GT3 RS...

    (18 April 2014)

"The entire week is a coming and going of new test cars on the Nürburgring. We hadn’t seen the Porsche 991 GT3 RS for a while already. Maybe because of the problems with the engine of the GT3, but the car’s back. The GT3 RS showed up on the Nürburgring again to make a few laps.

The GT3 RS will be a big improvement of the previous generation, that’s something that Porsche will definitely make sure thanks to new technology. Optically, the car also got some adjustments. The wing on the back is way bigger than before and this is the first GT3 RS with air intakes on the hips. Before only the Turbo and Turbo S had these air intakes. This could mean that Porsche comes up with a new 4.0 engine which needs more cooling. The boxer engine will produce around 500 hp."

too bad, as I think the squared off intake of the RSR would have looked more appropriate on the GT3RS  than the std Turbo intake seen on the mules
