I really thought I solved a puzzle there.... (I almost felt smart!) LOL! I should have known though... There's no 'cavallino rampante' on the Speciale's wheelarch....

Every LaFerrari has the "1 of 499" plaque. Just like every 599 GTO has "1 of 599".
It doesn't mean it was the first one built.
And it does not also necessarily mean they will build "only" 499 . Ferrari stopped the progressive numbering with the 550 Barchetta. Also more Enzos were built then officially announced , same for 16M, 599 SA etc .

Yeah sure. Like McLaren with its spygate scandal, Pagani with the hand-cut slicks on the Top Gear run and Porsche with the VW takeover scandal. Ethics and business are mutually exclusive mate.
