JoeRockhead:
Did you buy a place Watt, or are you still exploring the area? If you are down there for a few months will you bring the dogs or do think the trip would be too much on them? Maybe you could start a rent-a-lab business?
I don't think we need to rent them, they just come to us.
Benson brought a young lab friend yesterday, but he comes by every day and hangs.
we are renting on waihi beach for the month from an officer of the porsche club.. We will keep trying other places but this is pretty nice, with dogs wandering freely on the beach , no dog signs are studiously ignored on the trails, a small beach town like malibu 80 years ago.Pretty close to perfect.
once Sky is alone after Sun passes, we will take longer visits and bring him back and forth theres a ten day quarantine and moving a dog is $3k each way...after all his father Boaz was from NZ!
sun n sky are hiking away with blanca in malibu and send their best

Would you have to keep Sky in quarantine for a time in NZ, or just prove that all the shots and such were done? The other solution would be to buy a private jet. Then you could save the $3K!
Anyway, looks awesome there. You can just follow the summer all year.
That;s Tiger, he's 19 years old as I've said before, just a cat from the Malibu pound, who's a survivor. He's been with us for 18 years. We had bigger cats from the pound in Arizona, they lasted less than 10 years.
While Storm was ill, Tiger actually went blind from hyperthyroid. he can see again with drug treatment. The dogs and he have always been close friends.
Benson is sleeping under the table as i type. Here is malibu today, so dry still even after 4 inches of rain, when Brandi hiked with Sun and Sky today
it looks no wetter after 4 inches than in january with Los Tres before Storm died, and before it rained.
The beach looks beautiful . So much space and with no people . That mirror looking water makes me want to do some wake skate , but I suppose there is not enough depth .
The beach reminds me some of the ones in South Africa, expect that the see is rougher in SA .
Spring is early over here . The first flowers are out and for the whole week temperatures will be between 14 and 18 C .
There is still enough snow on the mountain , but it will melt fast .

To go check out Ohope Beach down by Whatakane, considered generally the best best in NZ, wide, flat and faces completely North, important in winter if you live there. It's really busy infested with humanity as well
Offshore you can see White Island, an active volcano spewing suphur in the air, not very green!!
