Whoopsy, give your wife more credit. I suspect you did not have to buy her acceptance. Rather she understood it was a toy you really wanted and she would not want to stand in your way in getting and enjoying it. That is the way it works with my wife and I am confident your wife is the same.
But remember, it works both ways. With me I draw the line with George Clooney.

Bottom line is that the 'bribing' is for shutting up the nagging and visible momentary displeasure of spending a chunk of money. Of course at the end of the day the wives are supportive, or else they wouldn't stay as wives.

With two (school) kids, a job (family doctor), dancing/Spanish lessons, fitness/tennis training, the last thing my wife would do is reading this forum. 
Even if she would, she wouldn't mind. I actually don't know many women who are as (traditionally) gender oriented as she is. I kind of like it because I don't have to argue with her about the typical man/woman stuff which keeps so many couples in a permanent state of alert (and stress). We both have our purpose in our marriage and it works quite well without any confusion about what she or me should do.

The author is moaning about the 9-page press release from McLaren which states that they managed a lap with less than 7 minutes around the Ring, but there is never any mention of the exact time... blablabla. He then goes on calculating the time from the average speed and end up with above 7 minutes... blablabla. He then calls the lap times from different manufacturers a PR war... blablabla. Then the article is then finished off with a note that it was sport auto that started with the lap times as comparison and they are maybe partly to blame for this PR war, but that there needs to be more facts provided with the record times, such as tires, time, length, etc.
In summary, he is unhappy with the content and purpose of the McLaren sub-seven minute press release

The whole car is gorgeous....Great color, nice photography skills, great wheels,all making for a stunning picture
(Btw, is it me or does this car look even more sensational,albeit in a more raw way, in Weissach pkg?)
Also, anyone in the know on how many 918's have already been sold so far..
I think it was around 50% in early November, but then again I could be wrong

Something just crossed my mind. You guys know I was looking for a CGT before that turned into a 918. In buying the 918 instead of the P1, I had enough left over for a CGT
At least the CGT would not depreciate, based on current valuations Probably not a bad investment.

Not at the current price.They had gone up around 50-80k since I looked at them last year after the infamous Paul Walker incident.
Another thing is, I think I don't have the touch to use that clutch yet. But I have sourced a carbon fiber shift knob to replace that eye sore wood one already haha.

Agreed. It’s not an Acura but it’s not as hard as getting used to a sintered iron clutch. The only real trick is you can’t lightly feather the throttle when pulling away from a dead stop. I found it was either no throttle or lots of gas (but I don’t have a huge amount of time in one, so don’t take it from me, the guys here that actually own them are better sources of info).

Traffic jams are a horror in this car but otherwise, you're right...not really an issue.

No, the horror is stopped on an up hill incline. Need to use the hand brake and release it at the appropriate time.
FWIW, I never had to apply a lot of gas to use the clutch. The first time I drove one in the Bay area I drove off without a hitch and the owner who was in the passenger seat asked how I did that.

I didn't think that was so old, but now that cars have neither a handbrake nor a clutch, I guess it is (and myself included)
