I got my red baby 2 weeks ago, and fortunately the weather in Portland has been decent which allowed me to enjoy my baby for a little while. All I can say is WOW, what a car. It is like a slot car, so agile and not bad driving around town. I was able to take it on couple of long trips on 2-lane winding roads on country side outside Portland. What an experience! Really a fun car. I have been worried about the electrical steering & the PDK since most of my cars are all manual cars, but I discovered none of these concerns are an issue with this car. The steering feels pretty close to my Lotus Evora, which has one of the best steering anywhere, and I never missed the manual box driving the car. PDK is really different and much better than my 2013 911 4s and the ability to shift into neutral by holding both paddle shifters, gives you the feel of driving a manual. All and all I have been very pleased.
I had mixed impressions About driving on the rain. When the roads are wet and temperature is higher than 48 F, it is not really too bad and feel very balanced and secure. However driving it during down pours and temperatures close to 40F is right down scary. The back wants to come loose with the slightest throttle application. It is like driving on ice, and the psm does very little and has a delayed response. So if you are not very careful, you will end up in a ditch.
I only have few complaints so far. The missing bluetooth is kind of annoying and only became aware of it after the car was about to ship, but my dealer is working on adding it free of charge since they were not aware of it themselves. I also have an alert message popping randomly indicating the lift system is malfunctioning, but it appears to be working ok. Anyway I have dropped the car yesterday at the dealership to diagnose and fix the alert message, and add also the Bluetooth. I am also having them installing Michelin PA4 tires, as the Michelin Cups are really scary on cold wet streets, and I want to be able to enjoy the car until I get the chance to take it to the track in April. I was supposed to get the car back today but Porsche service indicating there is a recall that was just issued by Porsche and they would like to keep the Car till Monday to take care of it. I tried to inquire about the recall but the service clerk was not sure, so I will find out more on Monday.
