    LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Happy Holidays Luigi!!!

    My Europipe arrives today!

Just curious about your impressions with your pipe so far...

    Take Care,

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hi Rockitman

I will pic up my GT3 on 5.January, then i do some km about 1500. and then i will install also a europipe.

    Regards Bruno

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Sorry for replying so late...

I made the installation of my modified version of Europipe's exhaust a couple of weeks ago, and it's everything I hoped for!

First off, it is a work of art!In the pics the Cargraphic seemed better finished but in the metal there absolutely is no comparison, it is totally in another league.

Installation is easy and everything needed is provided, to let you understand how well Europipe's people work, I can tell you that since my GT3 is an RS model they've hand polished the tailpipes to give them the chrome effect as in the stock version!!!

The sound is just awesome, almost as loud as my Modena decatted and sport exhausted, with a very aggressive and full tone to it, with a great screamy top end.My version though would probably be too loud for most, I advise to go for the std version if not 100% sure.

I could also feel a small gain in throttle response and a bit more urgency above 6k revs.No torque deficiency was noted.

I highly recommend this system to anyone, the quality is outstanding, it's probably the best made system I've ever seen for any car.

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hi Luigi,

I'll receive a GT3RS in february 2004 and I'm interested in the Europipe exhaust system you described.

Could you please tell where the exhaust system can be bought? Is there a Europipe-web-adress?

Do you know if it is street-legal (For using it in Germany) and
what are the about costs of the parts?

Are there some photos posted showing the system?

And finally: Do you think that it is primarily an improvement regarding the engine sound (I hope not more than 102 db) or
    also an improvement in horsepower?

    Thanks for your answers.
    Dieter

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hey Dieter,
Europipe is based in Belgium, their webpage is www.europipe.be and you check out their excellent video file.
Luigi, congrats! How would you compare the quality to Tubistyle?
Is Tubistyle good though? (not for the GT3 but in general as a company)
    Thanks.

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    LG1,

What is different on your system from the standard one?
is there a db rating? some tracks have restriction.
is it lighter than the standard system?
do you think it will make more hp than the standard sytstem?

Hopefully you will post a video on your new setup, can't wait.

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Just finished the GT3 Europipe install. Took about 5 1/2 hours all told till test drive. Immediately noticed the deeper/warmer/screamier exhaust note, noticeably improved throttle response. The power seems more immediate on demand than before. Anyways, I will eventually redyno the car for the ultimate litmus test for the HP increase. I am confident that the claims of the MFG are true. I will expect rwhp to be in excess of 360, using the conservative drive train loss factor of 15%...360/.85 = 423 Flywheel HP estimate. Not bad for an NA car. As always, I have detailed pics of the complete install and will be putting together an install gallery for everyone's pleasure...

    Rockitman,

Now you need also a K&N Filter, i saw you still have the standart one on it.

Happy New Year Bruno!!! Yes you are right...Less exhaust backpressure needs greater intake flow. I think I will order the BMC panel filter soon...

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Wow! Those are a work of art...in addition to--I'm sure--sounding great!

    Re: Europipe Installation Guide

    Hi Rockitman,

    well done!!!!!

    Regards Bruno

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Glad to hear you've installed the EP as well Rockitman!
I've noticed more urge at highj rpms, but what do you think of the result under 3k revs?

My version has basically no muffling in the exhausts, basically just pipes...
No added hp over normal europipe, but very VERY loud!

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    LG1,

How did you get your version?
What is different about it. Is it an exaust with straight thru pipes or is it just a pipe w/o the exhaust casing?

    Please explain.

And do you have an mpeg for it?

    Thanks.

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Hi Luigi: I love it so far...Only had a 30 minute test drive when I installed it. We now have snow and freezing rain, so the car won't be back out on the road for a while...I will post my final impressions once I get some seat time, weather permitting as of late.

Note: My install gallery seems to be down on the server it was hosted, FYI. It should be back up soon for those who are interested...

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hi Guy's,

I've been following this thread with some interest, or lurking you might say, and i thought you might like to see these pics of my Europipe system on my MK1 GT3. This system, although made by Europipes, is only available through a German race team/tuner and is part of a 40HP/40NM upgrade. I've been running this upgrade for some weeks now, and i must admit, it is fantastic!!

    Regards,
    Steve

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Exhaust looks hawt!!!! Did Europipe make the headers too???

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Bass GT3,

    where did you get it?

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hi,

I thought that might pique your interest!!
the pipes are available from Manthey Racing in germany, http://www.manthey-racing.de/ although here in the UK, they have an official supplier, JZ Machtech.
The system comes with the headers and a new ECU and cup air filter, which requires the mass air sensor to be ditched. This means the system is mapped from the throttle position, increasing vastly response. The rev limit is raised to 8500 although the power drops away at 8000, which is a hugh improvement on the MK1 which originally revved out at 7200.
All in this puts about 35/40 BHP and 40 NM of torque onto the standard 360 bhp, making it a VERY quick car.
I know you gu's are running MK2's, and I'm not sure as to the availability of this kit for that model.
FYI Manthey are based at the Nurburgring and i believe have won the Porsche Cup countless times, so they know a thing or two!!
As i said before, these pipes and headers are made by Europipe on behalf of Manthey as they developed this kit on their dyno's so i don't think it can be bought direct

    All the Best

    Steve

BTW-The exhaust looks great, glad to see you like it!! Get that thing back to AWE!! I would be interested to see what it runs...
    Evan
PS-I will be in Albany in a couple weeks, maybe we can grab some food one day...

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

Sorry Evan, I did'nt know your hours so I ordered one on linr from KTR Performance in MA. $125.00 delivered..should be on my door step today.

Give me a call when yur up. Maybe we can do lunch...

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Bass,

do you have a sound file of the exhaust, must be complet different then a original one, because the 2way crossing.

    regards Bruno

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

i will be taking a video of the car on a dyno 21 feb. i will post this ASAP. FYI, the sound is totally different now, with a deep bark up to 6k after which it screams like a Ferrari.
My local Police love it too, judging by the number of times i've been stopped lately. The factory rates this pipe at 103db, which is about right, but what a sound

    Regards,

    Steve

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hello Luigi,

Have a GT 3 and Have been trying to decide if I should get the Normal Europipe Setup,or go for the Modified Loud Setup.

Have Played there Dvd many times, how much more louder would you put yours at.. 20%,30% or more?

I like the Tubi sound on the 360 Modena, and I also have a Ruf Turbo which I also like the sound on....was hoping that maybe you and Rockitman would put a incar video on this site.

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

I can use the Tubi on a Modena as benchmark, since I'm familiar with the noise level of it.I would say that my version of the europipe is slightly noisier than that. Hope it helps...

    Re: LG1...Europipe verdict???

    Hello Luigi,

Thanks for your quick responce, yes you have helped me in reaching my decision.

    Regards

    Peter
