@Gnil: I have to admit, I nicked the keys already this morning. It's a fabulous drive, the damping feels really high quality compared to 'lesser' MINI's I've driven before, also much more comfortable than I was expecting. Full review after a more comprehensive drive.

I've just seen the Paceman in the metal this last week, saw one at a Mini stand in a car fair they had here and saw a black one in the streets and I'm really liking it !

I've got my JCW R56 last friday, I was thinking of getting a GP2 as well but as my wife and I will need backseats I did'nt go for it!
nevertheless the mini's a really great car, lots of fun, quiet fast around corners and I also found out (and liked) about it's tail-happyness... ;-)
Are you going to modify the car?
I'm thinking of getting the JCW bucketsears in leather/alcantara.

Maybe a little bit off-topic but I just heard today that Mini apparently puts a Mini JCW with AWD(!!!) and 240 hp on the market in 2014. A dream come true. Also interesting: This car will be available with the BMW Steptronic (automatic) too. I actually wanted to get a Mini Cooper D for us (and my old mother) but right now, it seems it could become this little devil.

Indeed. The car seems to be a sure thing for 2014 but I have no release date yet.
Rumored 0-100 kph acceleration performance: Under 6 seconds with Sport Steptronic. Unfortunately the base price is rumored at around 45k EUR.

45k€.... insane!
Anyway - if you check the lease of those little cars they are pretty affordable. Just checked a full configured Cooper S on Sixt-leasing.de and its really not a huge deal. Lets hope for the x-drive

Yes, very affordable and not much difference between a fully equipped Diesel and S model. Weird. Not sure about he JCW with AWD though, I need the car in March or April next year, so it may be too late for me to wait for the AWD JCW. The Countryman is great in snow but way too heavy, the Cooper S version feels more like a underpowered VW Golf with 90 hp. 
No fun to drive.

Auto Motor und Sport just wrote that the new JCW will carry approx. 240 PS which would be quite an increment from the outgoing model. They further comment that the engine has much more potential and refer to 300 PS but in an AWD version. That would be a heck of a pocket rocket!! 
They would not write that if it wasnt in the works...:-)

The AWD version is coming in 2014. Latest info was 240 hp (it is going to be a JCW version) but if they would offer a 300 hp version too, this would be great. Not sure about the price tag though, I guess the 300 hp version would be over 50k EUR if the 240 hp version is over 40k EUR?

We went to Berlin with friends to celebrate NYE and decided to take the MINI. Most friends were travelling there by plane so we had some fun seeing who'd be there first, we won with 5.30h total travel time door-to-door.
On the autobahn it felt pretty pleasant, topping out at 245km/h on the speedo, cruising at 190km/h feels pretty relaxed. Most amazing of all was the fuel consumption, despite averaging 158km/h on 800km it consumed 8.3l/100km of super unleaded.
Since it has no rear seats, the girlfriends' luggage is not an issue!

Never got our Countryman Cooper S All4 under 12 liters / 100 km but mainly in the city and the car has automatic.
8.3 l / 100 km is great for that average speed.

The GP is still being throughly enjoyed by my girlfriend, once in a while I get to take it for a spin myself, and I must say it never ceases to amaze me. Incredibly oversteery as well, a real joy to hustle down a road.

Great week we spent with this little car, going on a skiing trip with friends to Austria, I decided to bring along the GP since it's the only car able to carry a snowboard, while the D3 is still months away. Once there, I was so glad I opted for this car. Due to snowconditions (there was none) in our ski-resort, we had to drive to drive from Saalback to Kaprun and back each day through wonderful country and mountain roads, What a weapon it is on roads like that.
Fully loaded
And back home with its gorgeous GT-silver/cocoa-friend after 2500 hard kilometers.
