Porsche do wear blue well.
Had a 996 C4S in Lapis Blue before, and my old 997 Turbo was a shade darker in Midnight Blue. Dark Blue metallic is another shade darker than Midnight.
Lapis blue is an exquisite color

I don't see any 996s anymore in Switzerland, where do they end up? Eastern Europe?

You swiss hide them in your bomb shelters? I read somewhere that Switzerland still requires that buildings has to have bomb shelters even now?

Granted, the painted keys will come with a black leather pouch with acid green piping and embossed with either the word 918 or the shape of the 918 in acid green also as I was told. That was the reason I added that option.
Not considering another interior/exterior color? Black/black might be a litlle dull for a car this special, no?
Lol look up a few posts, dark blue metallic is under consideration :)
I was planning to keep the car monotone, with calibers in acid green and the scripts with a acid green colour, there is only one choice for interior, that's black with acid green.
For exterior, a few do cross my mind, other than basalt black, I like the dark blue metallic, also like the cobalt blue. Had a 10 second hot flash for rhodium silver. and meter grey.
If the car is waxed and clean, no other colour can match the shine and mirror effect of black. It highlights and showcases curves on a car like no other colour. With shades of silver, the high points will be 'overexposed' and the details lost.
About the only reason to choose shades of grey is to hide dirt. Grey cars, especially the lighter shades, and most silvers never look dirty.
Black is also the cheaper option :) On a black car all the exterior carbon bits will get lost among the blacks so I can skip spec-ing the carbon mirrors, roof, etc.
The dark blue metallic to me is the best of the bunch. Dark enough to give the highlights of the lines like black, but subtly different enough to, well, not be black. IMHO it is by far the "classiest" colour of the bunch.

What , not the $64,000 special paint option?
Single most overrated option ever.
At certain lighting it does looks better than normal paint, but under most condition it just looks the same.
If I were to pay 64k for a paint job, it better be like a colour shifting paint or a custom metallic candy apple red or something like that.
I cannot understand how Porsche can charge over $10,000 for a front lifter (btw it cost about $3400 on the GT3 which I opted not to get). If they deemed it worthwhile to place it as an option, they should have made it standard equipment especially on a car costing close to a million dollars!
Whoopsy, you haven't told your wife about buying a million dollar car? Are you NUTS????
Lol you guys. 70-30 still in favour of black for me right now.
Nick, Porsche charge it just because they can. And they probably know every single order will include that option, so an extra 10k per car guaranteed. And yes, I still haven't told her I spent a mil on a car. And yes also I am NUTS!!
Saving grace is that I wrote her a cheque for her personal account for a million dollars last Valentine's Day, made her personally a millionaire.

Whoopsy, you are one hell of a husband. Hopefully, you are not using her account to buy the car.

Just in case someone is wondering why the 918 cannot pass the red Turbo S: The Turbo S was supposed to keep the speed at a low(er) pace, for safety reasons and at the same time providing the optimal driving line for the 918 behind him. He wasn't allowed to pass that car. Kind of clever.
