    2013 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit

    Congratulations to Vettel and RBR on winning the F1 Drivers' and F1 Constructors' World Championships ... Vettel extracted the maximum from his superior car doing a consistently outstanding job all season.

    It will be interesting to see what tactics Ferrari, Mercedes and Lotus use to try to secure 2nd place in the F1 Constructors' Championship over the remaining races.

    I'm interested to see which drivers go to which team etc ...

    SV is in another league. if I was one of the other drivers I would feel totally humiliated. And in Vettel's last lap he caught up with Button, one more lap and he would have lapped him which is a bloody joke. Its not just the RBR, its the driver too, without doubt.

    Bring on next season with the new engine because its just plain too easy for Vett at the moment.

    I do look forward to all of the changes in the next season, but I still anticipate Vettel being at the front of almost every contest!!  (Just trying to be realistic)  angry  ATZporsche I give a nod of the hat, sir.

    Adrian Newey - has created 9 or 10 Championship winning cars!  SV should split his salary with him. LOL

    In all seriousness, not sure what F1 is doing with their current formula? Are they really trying to reduces costs? Not  with all these technical requirements and limitations. Teams are spending fortunes in windtuunnels, simulators and aerodynamics in general. Now they must radically change everything for 2014. How can a smaller team possibly ever compete with the big 3-4 larger teams?

    Vettel is a very good driver but IMO his car is significantly superior. This is great for SV fans but now we simply follow F1 to see who will finish 2nd/3rd etc. Really boring.......

    Webber has been driving the same car during the last 4 seasons with different results. I was reading about the reliability issues and it was noted that Vettel suffered  two more breakdowns than Webber in the period during the RBR Golden Years.

    Moreover, compared to Scuderia Ferrari, RBR had the better car but if I remember well in 2010 and 2011 the Italian team had the much more reliable car. Something the Spaniard didn't manage to exploit sufficiently in order to add another Title.

    People who continue to doubt the brilliant German as a star driver make themselves look more and more spiteful and disgraced in view of Vettel's impecable record. It's about time they quieten their hostility down.

    Newey's superiority? This is the essence of Motorsport. Man and machine together. The product of a brilliant engineer fully utilised by a brilliant driver. Let's not forget Mateschitz who's money has made this dream team a reality. kiss

    I visited the Yas Marina F1 circuit on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi recently when I was there. Amazing facility. The Yas Viceroy Hotel is stunning. Had a lot of fun at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and enjoyed Dubai too, especially Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai.

    Vettel is a great driver, obviously, but, I think it's worth remembering the season Button won the championship with Brawn, he made most of the field, including Vettel (with the exception of China, I think it was), look ridiculous for 6 out of the first 7 races. Or, all those seasons when Barrichello racked up consistent second place finishes behind Schumacher at Ferrari. The car can be a huge factor in F1. On the other hand, his performance at Monza driving for Toro Rosso certainly indicates that he can do very well not in the best car, particularly in the wet.  Still given Red Bull's car dominance of late, I think, "another league," might be too strong at this point in his career.

    Very interesting set of articles at AMS about the technical highlights of the RedBull RB9. I wish the article would go even further into details. No matter what you think of RB, SV or Adrian Newey this shows how much ingenuity and effort goes into these cars and are unfortunately far too little documented in most media publications (tv and print).
