Help please sat nav problem

I have just had my car returned to me after 2 weeks off the road. Today I used the car on a long journey and selected the map function on the display. The triangle which represents the car is being displayed but in a completely different town (60 miles away) When I turn in a particular direction the triangle would turn too. Its like the car's location in relation to the map needs to be reset. I've had a good look through the manual but I cant see anything which can help me.

Any help would be appreciated as the nearest OPC is 90mins drive away.

I had the situation where the map didn't update but when I checked Lat/Long it was updating. I found a screen on nav options that allowed resetting to factory defaults and that fixed it. Not sure if I can find the screen again or what caused the problems - all I know is it works now. Good luck.

are you sure you haven't been abducted by aliens and just don't realize it? is there an odd smell?

Try resetting to factory defaults? Try ejecting then re inserting the CD from the navigation module/cd player in the trunk?

Gotta be something simple. Fingers crossed.

I had a similar problem.
The nav showed my position to be about 30 mi. from where I actually was.
It turned out to be the nav. antenna and the dealer replaced the antenna .

How can you be so sure that your nearest OPC is 90 mins away if your sat nav has a 60 mile error built into it?

OK, I'll understand if you cannot see the funny side of that question.

Sometimes a drive around for 15 mins or so will give the satnav the opportunity to realign itself with the satellite-provided information.

Ive driven it now for a week and it has not reset.

The OPC says they will come and collect the car for me as it sounds like its the antenna thats broke.
