    Thanks all guys!wink

Hope to make the right choice,i leave the Turbo engine, and this is what worry much me,but i whant to take this car for a few,and i think a GT3 RS will be more emotional and exclusive than a 911 Turbo, specially due is not a DD,but a fun car for the week end(and not all the week end) so...

Both great cars, but this time i whant to change.

I am only around 400 km away from Dairo's location, so we can always meet there for a good espresso and some good italian food. And of course for some old school bragging about cars. Smiley My son would love that, especially if it warms up again (after the winter) outside.

So next year it is...spring (we can repeat it when Dario's car is coming in autumn Smiley).

It's important where and by whom a product is engineered, not so much where it is manufactured or assembled.

Many components are made all around the world, as someone mentioned above, but if they are made to German standards they are as good as if they are made in Germany.

I had a C class made in South Africa and I currently own a VW Polo also made in SA. They are perfect as any of the others. Also the engine of one of my BMW motorbikes is made in China. Again the factory there is run to the BMW Motorrad-Berlin standards.

Of course, if the Ferraris were engineered in Zuffenhausen they would be better SmileySmiley

Piech's wife loves Ferrari, she even collects Ferraris. I heard that Piech is rumored to "target" Ferrari with the next Lamborghini generations. Maybe he feels annoyed that his own wife loves Ferrari.  Btw: Piech loves to drive...Bugatti. He has the latest and most powerful version (of course ), among other cars of course, like the Carrera GT and the 918 now (as far as I heard).

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

    RC:

Some rumor update regarding 991 GT3 customer cars:

    1. No customer car built until earliest mid of November (very likely no customer car delivered at all until December but this remains to be seen...).

    2. Delay issues seem to be PDK (heat) and engine (high revving durability).

    3. Solutions: PDK will get improved cooling, engine gets improved pistons/piston rods.

Again...rumors. Please take with a grain of salt. There is no official confirmation for the above!

Do not be worried if you ordered a GT3. I heard rumors that Porsche is doing everything to get the job done and the customer cars will be perfect. On the contrary, I think that with the improvements, the GT3 will be even better and much more reliable. It is good that they caught it in time.

This sounds fairly serious to be occurring so late in the product launch cycle.  Are there previous examples this serious that were  resolved quickly?

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Interesting comments from Matthias Müller (Porsche CEO) in the latest issue of Total 911...

    Matthias Müller, Porsche CEO:

    991-GT3_Matthias-Muller-interview.jpg

"When we had to decide on the GT3's gearbox, there was a huge discussion over whether we should have a manual gearbox, PDK or both. Of course, a lot of people voted for both, but in the end we decided to go with PDK. Developing two drivetrains is expensive and we are convinced about the specially developed PDK transmission in the GT3, as it changes gear in less than 100 milliseconds."

"But I have a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 with a manual gearbox, and I am also a fan of the manual gearbox. So maybe if we release a special edition of the new GT3, we might fit a manual gearbox."

-- Matthias Müller, Porsche AG CEO

...thanks to Total 911 for the interview! driving.gif

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Mr. Müller had a 991 GT3 as his primary "work" car for quite some while. Now he drives a 991 Turbo S (and of course he can drive whatever Porsche has to offer too).  I thought it is worth mentioning.

The "fitting" of a manual gearbox for a "special model" he mentioned could prove to be a challenge (AWS and electr. diff. and all) but if they build one, I would expect a price tag over 200k EUR, so I guess it wouldn't matter.

I think it will be an excuse for a limited model with manual gearbox, less technology and little lighter (a/c, PCM out, plastic windows etc) selling at an inflated price.

For those who think that "less is more" and have cash to spare.
