Back from the body shop after being vandalised.

Got my car delivered back from the body shop yesterday. It got vandalised 2 weeks ago.
The car has had a new bonnet, 2 new mirrors and all the car has been repainted except the o/s rear wing.

The car looks perfect. I'm really pleased with Selbys of Nottingham who did the repairs

Looks good as new. Is it me or are there a lot of vindictive people over there? It sure takes the fun out of things if you have to constantly be cautious of that. Good luck in future.

The UK is not like other countries where success is applauded. Here if you have got something nice like a luxury car, big house etc the attitude on the streets is you got lucky. Not, you must of worked/studied damn hard to get that!
There are definitely a lot of jealous, people about.

I'm pleased to hear that the repairs were done to your satisfaction. I had never had any sort of attention paid to my cars until I started buying Porsches. When I bought my first new 911 in 1977 some apparently disgruntled young Army trooper in Germany decided it would be neat to slash all my tires. I didn't know the person, and he and a buddy apparently did this to a number of cars belonging to people in his unit. Mine was the only car that didn't belong to someone that they knew,--my theory was that it was a nice looking car and they just wanted to destroy something nice.

Ultimately the Army's CID,--Crimminal Investigation Division,--located and identified the little culprit(s). I ended up with all new tires and my insurance company paid the tab,--and got a large chunk of my deductible from the little cretin when he sent ME a check for reimbursement instead of my insurance company. It's always nicer when you can catch the little scum. By taking your plates they will ultimately be much more traceable than just damaging and moving on. Let's hope they catch them and torture them.

No mate, but from memory it looks better. They have probably polished the paint afterwards with a polishing machine.

Must admit I left mine at B'ham airport over the weekend and was as always apprehensive about what I would find. Mind you the blast back this morning (midnight) blew away the worries

You're not alone. It happens everywhere. Thank goodness you're satisfied with the final product. I could never live with a car ( especially a Porsche )that has obvious flaws. It does look great from here!

Dented bonnet, roof, n/s rear wing, both doors and front wings. Only minor dents but the body shop saw them and put it right. They said the paint has to be blended in to the next panel so it ended up being almost a full re spray. The price for the insurance company is approx Pounds5000

My last two porsches had a lot of work done on them by selbys. They do top notch work. Glad its sorted boxsterboy. Do you live in/near notts? Im down the road in Lincoln and your right there are plenty of idiots in notts and lincoln. Small minded people. Fu!k them!

Glad to see you got it repaired. No one wants that to happen to their car, but a good side has to be a better paint job than you started with. Being a painter and having done my own paint jobs, I was not impressed by Porsche's factory job. Has 'orange peel' over the whole job...typical of factory jobs on majority of jobs. Good thing about about a non factory job you have is that they hand flatten and buff them out. If you find someone there that has a black car like yours and compare them in good light, you will see what I mean. You probably have a much better clear coat too, factory jobs are very thin, so you will be able to polish it much more before worrying about damage. Always a golden lining.

Did the insurance covered the cost of fixing the car? I can feel your pain, but oh well, there are a lot of jealous people out there that just hate people with nicer cars then them.

To me, whenever i drive my 911, there will always be one or two people staring at me like they hated me and want to kill me, does this happen to you guys as well?

sorry again for your adventure,man terrible ...

I understand, how they damaged your car, but from the pictures you provided ,i cannot see clearly the damaged areas. not how they were damaged except the mirrors....

The paint shop did amazing work .i m glad everything looks new..

On the other side i would try to catch them.
Dept must be settled.
