If you want more sound while keeping the PSE intact, take a look at the Sharkwerks Exhaust for the 911 (deletes the side mufflers) - they have a video clip with a car with PSE and their side exhaust! Sounds fantastic!!

You are aware that Europeans have pretty strict environmental laws with strict sound limits and using non approved exhaust systems can get you in a LOT of trouble over here, including loosing insurance coverage?!

Hi RC,
I was aware of that there are some sound restrictions but somehow that escaped me when I posted late last night ! I didn't realize you could lose your insurance. I suppose that is why PSE is still more quite than the average aftermarket exhaust you can in NA.

Yes, the insurance thing loss is really a major problem in Germany. Also some police officers kind of started to target too loud cars, even got in trouble with my former 997 Carrera GTS Cab (stock PSE...with open flaps all the time 
). In Bavaria, a police officer can actually confiscate the car on the spot if he thinks it doesn't comply with the law and some seem to find it quite amusing to see a Porsche driver walk away... The Porsche 964 RS is a very common "victim" over here.
Interesting enough, a 991 Carrera S Cab (latest model, brandnew) with PSE I drove recently had a BRUTAL exhaust sound, very loud and it didn't cut down the sound at any speed. Still haven't asked my dealer if there was something wrong with the car but I really cannot imagine this was street legal. Wow, what a sound.

Interesting regarding the confiscation of cars based on sound. Over here in Ontario, Canada we have very strict speeding rules that came into place a few years ago;
The highest speed limit even on our major 4 lane highways is 100km/hr and if you are driving 150 km/hr or higher you automatically can lose your licence for at least a week, have your car confiscated and get charged with "stunt driving" or "racing"
I would much rather have strict noise regulations and be able to enjoy my Porsche safely at slightly higher speeds without worrying about losing my licence!! Want to trade regulations??

50 kph over the legal speed limit (we still have LOTS of speed limits in Germany, even on the Autobahn, only a small part of the Autobahn is really without a general speed limit) would mean that you loose your license for at least a month (50 kph over the speed limit in the city would cost you your license for three months). If you endanger other people, you can face charges too.
Still wanna trade?! 
Regarding that 991 Carrera S Cab I mentioned: My dealer claims the car is stock and nothing seems to be wrong with it. I highly doubt it, this was the loudest and most provocative 911 sound I ever heard on a modern Porsche, there definitely was something wrong, I think the exhaust flap control didn't work as it should, the only logical explanation.

Well, it would be nice to have some areas where the car can "stretch it's legs a little" !! I'll still trade you just for the unlimited stretch on the autobahn and maybe having "The Ring" near by !!

I love the stylish blue, but find the rims a bit "cheap" looking.
Maybe becuse a tuned toyota's driving such wheels inmy environment.
Otherwise a GREat buy! I'm beginning to miss a P in my garage after 3 years R8. (i' dlike to have both...

The rims are not matte, they are painted in platinum satin (unless the photos show the real deal and Lars had them painted in matte grey).
Also, it isn't the fault of Porsche drivers that tuned Toyota drivers actually came to their senses and started to use matte painted rims on their cars. 
I hate silver rims, I think that the platinum satin rims look very nice.
Now that tuned Toyotas have wings, should Porsche delete the wings from their 911 models?
It is always the WHOLE package which counts and matte rims look good on a Porsche (most GT3 and GT3 RS I know personally have matte rims).

Reason - the plantium matt you can order are a bit brownish which would not go at all with this color. This rims are matt grey matching the interior grey - a bit darker to stand out! They first have been painted matching the interior but it was to light - looked like a dirty Silver rim. Now its darker and it looks really mean and completely different!

They look platinum satin on my monitor and I was wondering how matte they look but would have never imagined you had them painted in matte grey, which is quite an unusual color for rims, indeed. I saw the same exterior color with platinum satin painted rims and I think it looked quite good but maybe the matte grey fits your interior better. Still, seems to look good to me.

Great looking rig! I would have never thought that this particular blue and matte wheels would look so good. Though I suspect the matte wheels would look best in brighter light conditions to show off their uniqueness, rather than at night/low light.
Your comment about the 991 being perhaps too perfect and grown up. That's how I felt about the chassis, and ended up not buying one. However, some say the longer you live with it, the more it reveals its charms. And, it really becomes alive on track.

I wish they would. Even Porsche's new paint shop seems to be incapable of producing matte colors.

Regarding matte colours; I'm sure Porsche is capable of producing beautiful matte colour cars. I suspect (and my salesperson's opinion also) is that they just don't want to deal with the headache and potential customer service nightmare related with matte colour body paint.

No, they cannot. Their latest gen paint shop isn't capable of that. Apparently they didn't have any interest in making it capable.

Do you not think it is simply a fad? It was popular a few years ago in the UK but rarely seen on quality cars now.
British and US customers are not too much into matte colors or black rims, this is true. Same seems to be valid for Asian customers. In Europe however, things are a little bit different but apparently the remaining 10% or so (marketing evaluation) don't really count too much. The black wheels seem to be a compromise to satisfy this group.
