    Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse

    570 hp, 70 kg lighter than Gallardo LP 560-4, AWD.

    Price tag over 200k EUR..

    Performance: 0-100 kph in 3.4 sec., 0-200 kph in 10.4 sec. and Vmax 320 kph.

    It's somewhat ironic that the Italian tri color stripe along with the interior trim - black alcantara upper dash, red alcantara lower dash, red and black alcantara seats, carbon fibre interior door panels etc - are lifted directly from the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale which was launched in the same year as the original Gallardo... 2003 angry

    I am actually more surprised that this sports car, which weighs more than 200 kg less than the new 991 Turbo S, has a worse performance on paper with even 10 horses more.

    There will be an element of marketing strategy hampering the engineering team with this car. They need to ensure that they do not make it outperform the next generation Gallardo due next year and also keep it well away from the performance stat's of the much more expensive Aventador.

    There will be an element of marketing strategy hampering the engineering team with this car. They need to ensure that they do not make it outperform the next generation Gallardo due next year and also keep it well away from the performance stat's of the much more expensive Aventador.

    This is a special model and it wouldn't really hurt Cabrera sales if this car would be faster, especially since I do not expect the base Cabrera model to be amazingly fast. I also think that this special model is going to be much more expensive than the Cabrera (rumors indicate something around 210k EUR for the Squadra Corse), so no damage done. The Gallardo LP 560-4 for example is 191k EUR in Germany.

    Since there are rumors that the new Cabrera will be aprox. 100 kg heavier than the Gallardo, I think it is safe to assume that the 600 hp engine won't really give the Cabrera a massive performance boost.

    Lamborghini sold only 60 Gallardo in Germany in 2012, 40 of them were registered to dealers. Go figure. Lamborghini needs a "new start", so I guess they will make the new Cabrera more appealing to luxury cars buyers. As a comparison: Over 458(no kidding!) Ferrari 458 were registered in Germany in the same period. Even 141 California.

    You'll be happy to hear that at a comparison meeting (involving the new 991 TurboS, the Cabrera, the new R8 and even the Toyota LFA), the 991 Turbo S achieved the best performance from 0-100 kph. Smiley Not that I'm really happy about it. Smiley

    According to Kreso, on this event cars were only showed to VIP's. Cars were standing next to each other, no road test were made and it was only a marketing move without involving performance tests. So there's some miss information here from Kreso or your source Smiley

    NOT to VIPs, but to VAG/Porsche managment/marketing personal. It was a closed event. Ans yes, 991 Turbo S is the fastest in 0-100km/h according to the specs amoung cars that were compared.

    I don´t deny the fact  991Turbo S to be faster than Cabrera, but RC stated there was a road test made, and you said cars were only standing, this is the miss information part I was refering too, not the 0-100Kph specs.

    But relax, I know you guys have precious and reliable inside info  Smiley

    Kreso wasn't there. Smiley Also don't forget that sources are not always 100% reliable, sometimes they leave away some details for their own sake (or whatever reason). I had to find this out the hard way when I found out that a former source (he doesn't work there anymore) lied about being at a certain event (he was there but said he wasn't). I get it, they are afraid but I never posted anything detailled or "intimate" and I think that all this gossiping me, Kreso and others are doing here is actually very good publicity for Porsche. So as long as we do not post some real trade secrets or details, Porsche should actually be happy about the free publicity they are getting. And I actually think they are.

    No, the cars have been driven by everybody during this event and it was not a VIP event but a closed VW Group event for the upper (upperst Smiley) management.

    After looking at them and DRIVING the cars, everybody had to make some assessments on some sort of questionnaire. The 991 Turbo S won the most points. Smiley However, it also seems it earned the lowest (or one of the lowest, don't remember) score for the interior look and feel (apparently Porsche needs to up their game and I heard they are going to do that).

    Talking about 991 Turbo S 0-100 kph performance: I truly think that not many cars on the planet will hurt/beat the 991 Turbo S in this domain but of course it cannot be excluded that some car in the same or lower price range will do it at some point in the future. Maybe even the Cabrera (don't forget that the car isn't on the market yet and developers still have time) but don't forget that Kreso already indicated that the new Cabrera might be more expensive than most people expect. Unless Lamborghini goes the Audi way, to offer an entry car and a superior model, so basically a Cabrera and a Cabrera GT or whatever.
