The widow maker was actually the 996 GT2. 
I remember how users on various Porsche forums were criticizing the neutral chassis setup of the 996 Turbo.
Once the GT2 showed up, people sold their 996 Turbo to get the "sportier" GT2. That year, I think I saw two crashed GT2 at my dealer alone and read about many many other crashed cars.
This happens when people think they can drive because a 996 Turbo isn't challenging enough (it was but nobody was really moving it at the limit, the neutral behaviour is legendary though, I loved it).

Looks awesome. Sad, in a way, that it has so few miles. I’m up to 120k and the car has been in the shop for weeks sadly having more coolant lines replaced. Keep an eye on these as years sitting is worse of the hoses than miles. Mine was always a daily driver with no issues until I started to let it sit for weeks at a time.
It is an awesome car though! Congrats, my little dachshunds wish all your dogs a fun time and many adventures in the future!

Yup, having driven 996 GT2s - the unguided missiles - 45,000 miles with the hammer down, I think Sun is capable of driving this guided missile
Nothing like hunting and tram lining between the white lines of the 2 lane at 155 mph in a 996 GT2!!!

Sun appreciates the kudos from all. This is the only 997 GT2 for sale in USA with just a few range 1 and 2 ignitions on the DME report -- the rest all had 4,5,6's... Other than missing a gear, and not downshifting too far, how does Sun keep the DME clean????? The test seems very sensitive???

The Poodles celebrated their new GT2 by ridging out way above the lake shown above in the thread's prior page. The lake in the middle behind the highest line of trees and shadow to R in valley way ... way below... Just glorious!
