    Can we install 305/30 tires for the rear 19" wheels?

    I was checking the Tequipment catalogue and noticed that the 997 c4 comes with a 305/30-rear tire. Can we install it on our 997 c2, since we (c2/c4) have the same wheel diameter / size...?

    Actually, the Carrera Sport (XRR) are of that dimension. So if the XRR are available for the C2 (and not just for C2S), then yes, you can. And I can't see any good reason why these rims would only fit the "S".

    Yes you can, however, the XRR wheels are 11.5 and 8.5, rear and front, respectively. Many good sources suggest that you use an 8.5 " front wheel as opposed to the 8.0". Even though the tire size is the same, with both wheels, the extra 1/2" does, reportedly provide less understeer.
    There have been some reports of drivers feeling that with the 8" wheel (front) and the 305mm tire in the rear, that their cars felt slightly "squirrley". Porsche does add 1/2" to the front and rear when using the 305 out back, so maybe there is some truth to it. (Obviously, whether fact or fiction, the reason being that there is supposedly more tire patch, even if it is only 2/8 ths of an inch, when using the wider rim.)
    I am considering the same combo, however, I will only do it with the wider wheels fore and aft, mounted on aftermarket wheels.

    I've got a C4S Coupe with Carerra S wheels (8" F and 11" R). Are the Carerra Sport wheels (8.5" F and 11.5" R) a straight swap - no spacers, etc? Thanks.

    They should be a straight swap out,--with an added note that no 5mm spacer is allowed with the Carrera Sport rims (XRR).

    but there is the 17mm option with the XRR wheels

    the 17mm option is only found on the Carrera 4 and 4S cars. 17mm spacers on the normal narrow bodies will push the XRR wheels out way too far.
