    My new Carrera is keyed

    hi all to share the sad news.. my brand new carrera S got keyed today by a somebody with lots of hate and no soul.
    ANy idea how to remedy the long scratch !!

    In Dubai? What?? Feel very sorry for you, very angry at this cowardly behaviour and shocked that it's happening in a relatively crime-free place like Dubai where luxury cars are ubiquitous.

    yes easy_rider.. in dubai.. very strange I 've lived here for the past 15 years never had this on merc. bmws, M3,... but I got it on the C2S...

    So sorry to hear of your misfortune. these mindless idiots seem to exist everywhere.

    If the scratch is long AND deep it looks like a bodyshop job. It's really the only way to get a totally invisible repair. Hopefully your insurance will cover it.

    Sorry to hear the sad news. FWIW, I think I'll probably put a NRA sticker on my window. That should scare off any UAW members here in Michigan from damaging mine once it arrives.

    That really annoys me - deepest sympathies - I've had many teenagers walk past here in Dubai saying "nice car" - and had felt this was a low risk place ......do you mind saying where it happened ?

    suuuucks. But sounds about right. Didn't the dealer tell you? This car comes with an invisible "Vandalize Me" sign attached to it?

    I only have a couple of places where I park my car with ease. Everywhere else I figure it's gonna get *ucked sooner or later.

    Just think of it as parking an expensive and unique show car: lot's of potential aholes will quite casually ruin it for you IF IF IF they think they can get away with it.

    In public areas always park in a conspicuous place if possible.

    yup im in dubai and noi dont have a 997, i have a 987s and on the list for a 997t.
    2) i dont know if im a member of the U.A.E club, they sent me letter saying that i had 1 years worth of complimentary membership and thats as much as i know. :-(

    I say locate the person(s) responsible through recorded satellite imagery and have the bastage(s) ELIMINATED.

    The world doesn't need any respawn of that scum.

    Oh wells. I've resigned to the fact that my 997s will eventually get keyed. Every car i've had here has been keyed. So i'm bracing for that day.

    And remember, its only a scratch. Won't affect the performance or the overala beauty of a 911 in motion.

    Sorry to hear your news....That's so weird that it happened in Dubai! I lived there for around 4 years (left in 03) and never heard of any kind of car crimes. I guess that's one of the growing pains associated with growing into a commercial city.

    Shame, I feel Dubai has lost so much of it's charm in the last few years. Too many people, too much traffic, too much polution and not enough time to relax with your friends and family.

    I'm still there a lot, but it's certainly not the tranquil, secret gem it once was.
