Audi's design subsidiary starting to do one-offs and low volume $1M+ cars

As I've been saying, expect more and more companies to start doing custom and low volume cars based on normal production platforms. Easy money. $1-2M for body kits.

Depending on the brand. Ferrari, yes. Lamborghini, yes. Porsche, maybe.

Audi? really? They might be over estimating their brand value. Unless this new division is not about modifying Audi but Lamborghini.

No one would pay extra to have a custom one off body of a BMW, nor Mercedes, why would someone pay extra for Audi?

Re: Audi's design subsidiary starting to do one-offs and low volume $1M+ cars

People have money to spend and want to be exclusive. Why else? $1.5M is a bargain for a one-off R8/Huracan. Ferrari changes probably $3M for a one-off V8.

Re: Audi's design subsidiary starting to do one-offs and low volume $1M+ cars

$3mil for a Ferrari is worth it because it's a Ferrari.

    $1.5mil for an Audi???!?!?!? Really?

+1 kiss - what amazes me is that you still have "new entries" into that Price-bracket like Glickenhaus etc and obvioulsy also those get sold

Neither BMW nor Mercedes offer a V10 engined mid engined sports car. Smiley

Also, just yesterday, I realized why it is a huge advantage to drive a R8 instead of a Huracan: A tennis ball sized stone crashed into my windshield at around 200 kph. No kidding. It made a big hole in it (didn't go through though, thanks god). I can pick up my car on Friday with a new windshield. Huracan? Two weeks, windshields are on backorder. Smiley I asked out of curiosity.

That R8 windshield will also cost half as much probably haha
