Was expecting more, though not sure why.
Check out the configurator. Starting prices are 162K and 195K!
Here are some of the performance claims. Not super impressive, though they aren't really indicative of driving characteristics

The price of the Turbo S is set too too high.
+20% over the "normal" Turbo and very close to the 458 Italia and MP4. Even allowing for the Porsche's all weather and all day abilities, IMO it is way too expensive compared to the exotics. It is only a much faster and more capable Carrera not a bespoke model.
Moreover, the Audi R8 V10 Plus is a better value than the Porsche and more special in appearance and engine configuration.
Are Porsche getting too arrogant?

Yeah, it's pretty damn pricey if you ask me. By the looks of the configurator it looks fairly loaded standard though. I priced one out with maybe 10-15K worth of options. Still, 210K for a 911 is expensive. Seems like they are setting up for a $250-300K mid-engine car.
pjd:
Dont like the front at all... also the wheels
For a car with smooth looks and not a good engine sound it`s too expensive...
I prefer a normal 991 S to this...
If i had to choose the best 991 so far, the 991 GT3 with no doubt....
My vote would go to the GT3 for the current 911 range BUT when you consider the price of a Carrera 4S with PDK and powerkit, The new Turbo has a good value, in terms of Porsche standarts

In my country (Portugal), the 991 Turbo S will cost more then 229.000€ (without extras)... A 458 Italia it`s just more 20.000€ wich have more agressive looks, better engine sound,... all like a supercar should be...
The problem it`s not the 991 4S price (with extras), it`s that the new 991 Turbo will be very close (in price) to other "exotics" (MP4-12C, 458 Italia, SLS GT, ...) wich makes the new 991 Turbo less attractive
In the 911 range there are 2 sweet spots on the basis of cost to benefit:
I wouldn't look at other variants and definitely avoid Cabrios.

In the 911 range there are 2 sweet spots on the basis of cost to benefit:
- Carrera S coupe: Iconic and honest sportscar, excellent performance and speed in the real world, reasonable cost (although getting expensive).
- GT3: Even faster on the road and very rewarding on the track, special looks (too much for some), good value for what it offers.
I wouldn't look at other variants and definitely avoid Cabrios.
Couldn`t agree more!

That's exactly what I was thinking. Carrera S or GT3 is the way to go in terms of value. My first thought when I say the 200K price of the Turbo S was, "Why not just get a GT3 for 50K less?"

The 911 Turbo appeals to many customers who do not want to attract too much attention. This has been and always will be the strength of the 911 Turbo.
Buying and driving a Ferrari F458 Italia in Portugal or even Spain or Italy in the current economic situation can be quite a challenge.
