    I saw live the new Panamera facelift in Zuffenhausen on Saturday near Porscheplatz (sorry no pictures had to keep the wheel of my 993!)  it was driving next to us .

    It was white with no model designation . The facelift is definitely noticeable (even my wife noticed it and it says it all but she also likes the Panamera) and it a gives smoother profile at the expense (imho) of the sportiveness. I see this design evolution more towards the elegant area than the sporty one . Just raw impressions take them for what they are worth .

    I was doing a little Internet scouring and found this information:

    - The Panamera/Panamera 4 traditionally get the 3.6L naturally-aspirated V6 with 310 horsepower
    - The same cars in the Chinese market get a detuned version of the 3.0L bi-turbo V6 used in the Panamera S/4S, this time with 320 horsepower, faster launch times and higher top speeds of 262/260 kilometers an hour respectively
    - The base Cayenne uses the 3.6L VW-sourced VR6 with an output of 300 horsepower
    - The Chinese-spec base Cayenne uses the 3.0L Audi-sourced supercharged V6 with 333 horsepower with a 0-100 km/h time of 7.0 seconds instead of 7.8 seconds [it's basically the Cayenne S Hybrid without the hybrid powertrain]

    I understand the importance of the Chinese market and Porsche's use of the lower-displacement engines to bypass the heavy taxes imposed on vehicles with engine displacements larger than 3 liters, but why doesn't Porsche offer the same engines on a global level? More powerful/efficient base models in Porsche's two top-selling models sound like something everyone should be able to enjoy rather than be left out.

    Despite the fact that China is indeed becoming more and more important for Porsche as a single market, the fuel quality in China is not that great, so the engines need to run on lower quality fuel, thus the "de-tuning". At least this is what I heard. Basically, the engines used in China are bullet proof...when it comes to bad quality fuel. Smiley

    Nope, it's based on Porsche's 3.6L V6 in the base Panamera models which itself is based on the Porsche V8. This is a genuine, homemade engine.

    This is misconception. Only the 3.6 V6 is based on 4.8 V8, not the 3.0 V6....

    As far as I heard, this is a Porsche development based on their own V6 engine. I am pretty sure (99%) about it but of course I have to rely on my source.

    I'm still waiting on the official model catalogue for additional details. Any idea when those will be released? They're generally available to download from Porsche's site but there's been nothing since the debut.

There are still no detailed pages for the facelifted Panamera on the Porsche website or downloadable brochure [and, on a separate note, the 911 GT3].     Wanted to ask the same question. Porsche seems to be frozen since GT3 and Panamera FL unveiling Smiley Maybe Porsche choosed this way of punishment for the early leaks of the info before official model launch, about Panamera FL from Autocar.co.uk from example?Smiley

    Good question...I don't have a clue (since I do not work for them).

    If you are referring to new products...well...expect the 991 Turbo and Targa information at some point.
