    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

WOW, that is a heavily optioned car! In US dollars, $177,000.angel

I thought my option list was long ($142,000) and was planning to reduce it.

Don't loss sight of the fact this a basically a track car and not luxury cruiser. On resale you will take an enormous hit.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Have you considered silver painter wheels? The colored Porsche logo in the center with a white exterior will look good. Does the club sport package also include the sport steering wheel?

My understanding is with or without the lifter you are going to be scraping the front rubber lip. At some point it will need to be replaced. Unless you anticipate serious ramp issues you might want to reconsider the option.

You do not want the 90 liter gas tank?

Finally, I don't get the LED lights. Major option expense and adds nothing to the car.

    1)  I definitely prefer the darker coloured wheels!  The sport steering wheel (i.e. with paddles) is standard!

    2) I will need the lift to comfortably access my driveway!

    3) I don't think the 90 litre tank is an option in the UK (if it is available I will definitely choose it!)

    4) The description makes them sound attractive albeit very expensive.  I'll reserve judgement until I've seen them in the flesh!

I doubt that it's available in the USA either?  Smiley

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

It is available on the US configurator. Why would they not offer it?

IMO, the darker wheels look very dirty and imagine what they would look like after a day of driving.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

I think the darker wheels are the best choice for lighter colored cars because of the contrast they create. If you order in agate grey, the darker blue, or black, I would go with brighter silver wheels for said contrast.

Nick, I think the darker color actually hides brake dust better than the bright silver wheels. If you're going with PCCB, this will be less of an issue.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

The 92L tank is not available for RHD drive markets due to packaging issues.

I have ordered the LED headlights as I feel they are an intergrale part of the new 991 GT3 "look". Almost all the press photos show the car with the dual cone LED headlights which give the car a unique appearance over the standard 991S offering. With the four point running lights in the bezel this also makes it look very unique. The LED headlights are a Porsche first and we will see them as standard equipment most likely on the turbo and GT2. Eventually I imagine they will become common place but at this stage they get plenty of write up in the press releases so I think they are worth adding to keep your GT3 looking unique and exclusive....and imagine they will work any better tho....

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

I don't believe the GT3 at the Car shows had LED. If it did it only confirms my belief about them. Were not noticeable.yes

Obviously, with the lights on they will be.

I am struggling with the dark rims. While it is true that brake dust will show on the painted wheels nevertheless they still will give off an aura of elegance. I like wheels they add to the car appearance. To me, the burnished bronze wheels with a modicum of brake dust just make the car look dirty. That said, the show car at the car shows was equipped with them.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Hi nberry. The car in the EVO feature at the show had steel brakes but LED headlights. The car on all the race track film clips that Porsche have released have LED headlights. The car that drove onto the stage at Geneva with ceramic brakes did not have LED headlights.White 991 GT3.jpg2-1111.jpgnormal (19).jpgimage (21).jpg

I believe the LED headlights will be a signature for this car IMHO.

The wheel issue is an easy one. Once the car is delivered 6-700 usd should be enough to have your panel shop tale the wheels off and repaint them matt black or any other colour you wish. I personally like the platinum on the white car...

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Those lights are a must in my opinion - also I would choose darker wheels - even slightly darker like mine on the RS helps them look cleaner much longer !

I'd order them as well, because they are LED and new and probably good for resale too -- just from the looks I prefer the standard PDLS though.

The larger tank wasn't available in North America in earlier GTx models. If it is now in the US configurator then it must have gone through Certification for the new generation.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Thanks. I still have difficulty distinguishing between the two. However, to be fair my right eye is sutured shut and has been for almost a week and I am only viewing the photos with one eye.Smiley

Why do you believe the LED lights will be the signature for the GT3? Is it because it is the first 911 to be equipped with LED? Smiley I rarely if ever would drive the car at night.

As far as resale, generally a buyer of this car is interested in performance particularly track performance. LED lights which add about $3500 to the cost of the car would be far down the list of his/her priorities. I would understand why a buyer of a Cayenne or Panamera would have them.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

    115k gbp without PCCBs? wow

i weep on what an equivalent turbo S will cost..

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

Just spent some time on the configurator. No doubt the LED lights give the front of the car a different and more modern look. I may reconsider.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge there are no present Porsche models with LED for me to look at. My dealer does not have any and my salesman has not seen them on a Porsche.

    Re: OFFICIAL: New 911 GT3 (991)

After some study I decided I would get the LED lights. I was going to order the Bi-Xenon lights in black $1345 and heated seats $690. The LED lights cost $3100. Since I live in San Diego I don't have a need for heated seats. Eliminating these two options and getting LED would only cost me another $1000.

More importantly, the LED lights will become regular features of future 911 models. Without them, my car would look out of date. The aggressive modernistic LED's will enhance the car look and make it much more attractive for resale.kiss

Thanks for asking.Have had tearing problem with it for years. This is the fourth operation and the last. Using a new fairly new surgical technique to try and correct. Not pleasant having your eye sutured shut for at least a week or two.Smiley

I don't believe the last black GT3 has the standard wheels. The other Gt3 have a different wheel which I believe is the standard wheel. Also, notice the burnished bronze wheels look dirty. The dull dirty appearing wheels detract from the styling of the car. That is why I am going with silver painted wheels which is an extra cost option.
